Outstanding design, this is a bea-uty. Packed full of detail yet plays so smooth and true. A really great course too, with a typically varied and exciting Nicklaus layout, never a dull moment throughout. The last 5 holes or so are simply awesome! Brilliant work, 5-stars without doubt. Cheers!

Do you want the "bear" facts ? Well, this Jack Nicklaus' course, redesigned by Bulpupp2, is a masterpiece ! From the immaculate, yet at times undulated and/or sunken fairways, to the small greens, nice and smooth, this course is spectacular, no matter what hole you are playing. Plantings are perfect, bunkers and high rough will give you a tough time, should you decide to... explore them and small details, like those little wooden steps not far from the 1st green, will show you how much work Bullpupp2 has done, paying attention to everything. As for the villas, not only I have never seen so many near a golf course but they look great too (but I don't want to know how much they cost..!). Picking favorite holes on this course is very tough: let me just say that I like the par-4 1st and 2nd (with water on the left and villas on the right), the sunken fairway leading to the par-3 3rd, the gorgeous par-5 4th and the par-3 7th for its views of the villas around the green. On the back 9, even though the scenery with the mountains & villas is great, I like the par-par-5 13th with the divided fairways and the last 3 holes (the par-5 16th, the par-3 17th with all those mounds and the very tough par-4 18th and its... high rough on the left side. Once again, thank you "bear"y much, Jack... and Bullpupp2 for this wonderful course !
P.S. As usual, I am not a big fan of black leaderboards but they are there... just like the spectators who showed up more than usual.

Very nice course - looks good and plays great. Water and thick bushes along the fairway at times will bite if your not on your game. I know heheh. Thought this course was done really well. Thanks for sharing.

I was all set to award 5* but have just found the ratings for this course & La Quinta have been turned off - new policy, Bill? Anyway, consider it done here - this was an absolute pleasure from go to whoa, for all the reasons mentioned in earlier comments. I kept an eye out for Bugs Bunny on my way round - he's often tunnelling his way to the Coachella Valley for a holiday. Maybe he missed that left turn at Albuquerque again, or he could be over at La Quinta - I'll go & check it out...

Superb work on this course! Didn't like the way the hill on the first hole showed thru to the pano but aside from that, fantastic work on the course. Awesome attention to detail...
