This version of Pebble Beach Golf Links 2013, designed by rlslay, is simply gorgeous, from the 1st tee to the 18th green, with lush plantings (as usual) and beautiful villas, blending in perfectly with the panorama and the layout where, with plenty of holes near the coastline, and some elevation changes, you will have a great time playing this famous course, updated since the EA version, as the par 72 is now a par 71, with the second hole being a par-4.
P.S. Out of curiosity, now that I have the TW08 edition, I just finished playing the EA version, and noticed, besides some differences, here and there (elevation, villas, etc.), that I really like the rock textures and, most of all, the ocean which is simply superb, the best I have ever seen so far (looking so "natural", color-wise, and showing the current, with the wind blowing). In fact, the ideal course would be combining the two ! But, in the meantime, should you decide to play the EA version, make sure to use pro tees (or you will have some big surprises – as I did, at first, having the tees set to “Tournament” by default, and seeing fans almost... nose to nose with Tiger Woods as he teed off, not to mention some unplayable holes...) !

Maybe it's just me, but I'm getting very choppy gameplay on this course. Everything other course (34 of them) is butter smooth.
Something unique about this one that requires different settings? Everything is on max expect Animated Shadows which are off & Shaders is on Medium

Having just played J Meiers 2013 edition of this course I have to say Jim nailed this course and although I always really enjoy Robs work and marvel at his beautiful planting this isn't very close to the real thing tbh.

I must be behind the times. When did #2 go from a par 5 to a par 4? And then on #3 theres a tree to the left of the teebox that isnt incorportated in any other renditions. The par 5 #6 hole has lost the tree u either go around or over making it an EZ shot to the green especially since the left to right slope isn't as severe as in past renditions. For me, the jury is still out on whether this version is up to standards.

Pebble is one of my favorite Tdub courses...I could find myself playing this version over and over and over and over.....The attention to detail from a "design" standpoint is, as usual with you, A+...from the terrain to the plantings and all structure work....I caught a bridge out of the corner of my eye on 16 that certainly didn't need to be there, but I can appreciate that it was.
I will agree with j on the accuracy, and it should be brought up,....but i personally don't care. I dont play/enjoy courses based on accuracy, i play them based on everything you did right....and in J's defense, not that he really needs any...i believe that was his sentiment as well. my only minor gripe would be the textures you chose for the cliffs...while they render well from afar, I don't like them up close, particularly the cobblestone....
Thanks slayer for a visually stunning and very entertaining course!

Excellent rendition of a track I do not care for very much. The eye for detail by the designer is outstanding. A side note: Can anybody point me in the direction of any designs by J Meier, so I can compare to this excellent designer. Enjoyed the walk.

Great to see Rob uploading courses on a regular basis again & a pleasant surprise with a real course, just before the Pro-Am kicks off. No problem here with lag or invisible trees, although I did get caught a few times trying to hit over visible ones! 5* as always, Rob...

This is outstanding! EA Sports must not even try because their version is just terrible compared to this masterpiece.

Beautiful but lags. All three of us had lag. Scorecard stays up way too long. Number 15 has a invisible tree that two of us hit. Wish those problems were not there. Again, beautiful to look at.

The course is visually stunning, well made and excellent detail, but for me the playability was well off the mark. Most of the greens did not break to the ocean, and one hole really stuck out as being way off the mark and that was 17. It is 9 feet uphill from tee to green. You cannot even see the putting surface from the tee. With this hole running towards the ocean, it is actually downhill fro tee to green. A very visual appealing rendition, but not very realistic representation of this classic.

A splendid rendition. The one thing that came to my mind while enjoying this course depiction is that we have not been able to create a better library format for ocean water. Unfortunately this is not my gift. I can think of numerous TW courses that would be benefited with a better library for the ocean. While already a jewel,I wonder if someone out there could create an ocean background to do justice this this and several other courses. In any event my congratulations to Islay for this beauty.
