A very colorful course with those autumn leaves (indian summer ?), with small gorges to watch for along with a meandering river (and creeks) and plenty of elevated holes, some of them with a steep slope around. This par 72 starts with the right dogleg par-4 1st hole, with a tree-lined wide fairway and a blind second shot over trees to reach the green, and is followed by the gorgeous (and tough) right dogleg par-5 2nd, with a downhill tee shot over a serpentine river running across and to the left of the fairway, and a blind approach shot over trees to reach the green (with a lone bunker in front), with the river crossing back to the right in front of it ! The par-3 3rd hole is very pretty with its winding hollow wasteland with plenty of bushes midway below the green, just like the gorgeous right dogleg par-4 4th, with a slanted fairway and a tough approach shot to the elevated green over that wasteland again. The right dogleg par-5 6th is another hole worth mentioning, with its downhill slope midway and a very long and tough approach shot downhill to the green, with a small pond at the end of a little creek on the right, and a big bunker on the left. Water comes into play again on the par-3 7th hole, with a tee shot over a creek running diagonally from the right, near the tee box, and past the green on the left, and on the right dogleg par-4 8th, with an uphill tee shot over the small river landing... down over the rollercoaster fairway halfway (past the corner), and a downhill approach to the green, again over the river. The scenery then changes on the next two holes with no water to worry about, on the left dogleg par-4 9th, with a downhill tee shot landing onto a wide fairway with a few bunkers in the corner, and an uphill shot to the elevated green, and on the par-3 10th hole, downhill to the green, with a big bunker in front. Quite a few challenging holes follow, starting with the right dogleg par-4 11th where, after a downhill tee shot, you will have a tough approach shot over a small gorge (with a river below) to reach the green. The right dogleg par-5 12th hole is one of my favorites : if it is quite short (about 485 yars), it is gorgeous with a... gorge across in the middle, and the river below, and very tricky too with a choice of two fairways : hit your tee shot to the left and you will have a clearer view of the green but a very long shot or, hit it to the right, and you will have to play it safe to land short of the deep rough. But in both cases, you will have a tough approach shot over a wide wasteland, filled with bushes, to reach its elevated green ! On the straight par-4 13th hole, your approach shot will fly over another gorge but, this time, you will only see bushes below, unlike on the left dogleg par-5 14th, where you will need a long and tough second shot over the river below to reach the elevated green. As for the last three holes, if the par-3 16th is nice with big bushes in front halfway below the elevated green, my favorite hole is the very short (about 330 yards) and scenic dogleg par-4 17th hole, bending sharply to the right, and with a narrow fairway, where you better play it safe if you don’t want to see all your hopes vanish in the wide river running all along on the right past the green... With its beautiful colors, plenty of water hazards, elevated and (sometimes) tricky greens, Dwyer Gorge could have been a great challenging course but, unfortunately for me, it was "spoiled" by too many grainy holes (more than a third, behind the fairway and/or greens !). But if you don't mind seeing these "displaying bugs", then you should definitely enjoy this course, designed by Hunting Leopard !

Your ability to lay out a golf course is unquestionable. The layout of your fairways stand out as does the placement of and play of most if not all of your bunkers. However I still feel there is need for improvement in the design of your greens, IMHO too many raised greens, false fronts, domed putting surfaces etc. Subtlety is sometimes the key to a great green (see #11 at Augusta). Keep up the good work. IMHO you are on the fast track as one of this sites outstanding designers.

Good looking course. However some areas around water a bit edgy and spikey.Greens almost unplayable on v/dry,but furthermore a good layout with some challenging drives from tee.

Really nice course every hole makes you think and the greens are tough but drop the ball in the right spot and you can make the putts. so a very interesting course loads of hazards (I found most of them) sneaky river that runs in and out of the course...

I like the way you used the river to make the different holes. Nice layout. This course has undulating greens that adds a bit to the challenge.
