Beautiful and unconventional links course set next to some very nice suburban houses, with quite a few narrow fairways and "tons" of bunkers ! This par 70 plays very smoothly and can be relatively "easy", provided you hit very accurate shots to avoid landing in some deep bunkers or in the high rough... There are quite a few nice holes, starting with an unusual par-3 1st, quite picturesque with all those houses lined up next to the road on the right side. After reaching the par-4 3rd hole (474 yards), you will have a feeling of "deja vu", as it is almost a clone of the 2nd hole (470 yards), with trees and bushes to the right of the tee box and a straightforward look to the green. I also like the long par-5 7th hole, slightly curved to the right, but my favorite hole is the par-3 9th, with no less than... 10 bunkers guarding the green and with beautiful houses behind ! On the back 9, the par-3 12th hole is nice too with "only"... 6 bunkers around the green. After a few holes with slightly undulated fairways, you will reach the par-4 16th, short enough for a birdie opportunity before facing the very interesting par-4 17th hole, with its two... separate fairways : the normal route is on the right, but if you hit your tee shot on the left side, it is shorter but you will have to hit a blind approach shot over some very high rough ! As for the straightforward par-4 18th hole, don't forget to take a look at the... white ship mast (!) on the right side, halfway down the fairway, before enjoying the nice view of the clubhouse... Overall, this links course is fun to play, without being as tough as some other British courses and, with its pretty surroundings is a definite keeper for me and, I hope, for you too, thanks to the CGX design team !

Lacks the roughness of previous version, still excellent and well done. Enjoyed the walk.

Im not sure why they are there tbh but I think all the Open venues have one somewhere on the course.St Andrews has one near the 1st tee and Hoylake & RSG have them near the clubhouse also.

I've always had a passion for links courses. In the last few months we've had some great designs in Prince's, Portrush and Royal Liverpool. Now an outstanding rendition of Lytham. Thanks so much CGX!

wow loved this creation and the whole course is summed up when you are taking your 2nd shot in the fairway at the 18th.....the view down to the gallery and clubhouse is near enough.... REAL
