I find myself more and more praising fantasy courses, and here is another one. Bobby Bolin created a great challenge here, I was amazed that I could actually pull off some of the shots required - others not so much! Don't play it unless you want a real challenge requiring shots you probably won't need on your Saturday morning round with the boys!

What an unbelievable course : either you will quit after a couple of holes or you will continue just for the "fun" of finding out what's next ! This par 71 is something else : after a nice par-4 1st hole (looking almost real), you are suddenly transported into "fantasy land", in a world where high and big rocks (with textures a little bit strange) will surround you as you play the right dogleg par-4 2nd hole and the straightforward par-3 3rd. After a quick trip back to "reality" with the par-5 4th hole, the par-4 5th hole, with its steep rolllercoaster fairway and elevated green will offer you quite a challenge, just like the very scenic par-3 6th hole, with its green located in the middle of a sloping terrain and guarded by bunkers. The sharp dogleg par-5 7th hole is gorgeous too, with its big lake on the left side (and a lone tree in the middle of an island) and its bunkers facing the tee, while being quite tough with its tiny downhill green, very close to the lake. I also like the par-3 8th hole, with its rocky wall facing the tee and a waterfall in the middle, and its elevated green, surrounded by a stream, quite different from the par-4 9th hole where you will need to hit a big tee shot over the water to get close to the peninsula green. But that's nothing compared to what's in store for you on the back 9 on the first few holes. The par-5 11th will have you hop from one fairway to another to avoid all the creeks and bunkers in between, whereas the stunning par-3 12th hole will have you shaking even before you start teeing off as you will discover the vertiginous drop to reach the tiny green, and its small pond on the right side ! (Believe or not, there is a real course with a somewhat similar hole, but I can't remember where it is right now...). "Fantasy land" continues with the par-4 13th hole, with its two rocky walls uphill and its narrow elevated green, followed by the right dogleg par-4 14th hole and its "cute" chinchilla-run-letter-shaped bunkers (reminds me of the unusual sight of the Australian flag in the middle of the fairway on the 1st hole at Dow Nunda Golf Club) ! Speaking of land, you won't see it on the left dogleg par-4 15th hole as you will face a big wall of... trees from the tee ! If you "survive" this hole, then you will be glad to know that Bobby Bolin "cooled off" with the last three holes (with the gorgeous par-3 16th over the water, and the two doglegs par-5 17th and par-4 18th, both with a big lake on the right). Needless to say, if you are lucky to land your approach shot on the peninsula green of the 18th hole, you will then realize that you are back to... square one, where all that fantasy trip started ! An experience that you are not going to forget soon, "thanks" to Bobby Bolin's vivid imagination...

Amazing piece of work - and one nasty brute if you're not on song. Really creative layout with some dazzling holes. I found the par 5's really tough going whereas the 4's were a more consistent challenge - the 15th my fave with that wicked blind tee shot - a ripper! But the real icing on this beauty is the par 3's. All of them are great, especially the brilliant 6th, the vertigo-inducing 12th (I've had two cracks so far at hitting that green and missed beautifully both times lol) and the stunning 16th - I love short par 3's and this is hands down one of the best ever - a true work of art! Loved it and it was painful - kudos BB. Cheers!

A variety of styles throughout the course, which starts immediately. When you finish the 1st then move to the 2nd tee, it's like you're on a different course. There's a gorgeous run of holes from 8 thru 12 & when you're on the 15th tee, you're confronted by a sea of trees. Gotta work out your tee shot precisely on this one - 2 of the 3 AIs I was playing with had to concede. Another winner Bobby & nice touch laying out the course name in bunkers along the 14th...

I found this to be a really fun course, Bobby, it has the fantasy label, and wow some of the terrain changes are a shock, but for me that was a plus. It was one heck of a challenge in Punch Putt mode. I will definately go back and try it again in normal mode and see how I rise to the many challenges it brings. Nice work, thanks for sharing it.

Excellent layout. The greens are a pleasure to putt on. A very peaceful place within the forest, especially hole 16. Enjoyed the walk.
