A delightful course with beautiful snowy peaks as a panorama, plenty of high and (often) strategically-placed trees and wide bunkers, with some elevation and quite a few hidden greens which, at first, look hard to reach until you see a few narrow gaps between trees allowing you to hit your second and/or third shots through. Shot placement is definitely the key to scoring well on this par 72, as you will find out, right off the bat, with the tough opening right dogleg par-4 hole, with a tee shot over a big pond, landing onto a narrow fairway with sparsely-planted trees on both sides, and bunkers in the right corner, and a slightly-elevated green. The par-3 2nd hole is simply beautiful, with a downhill tee shot over a big elongated bunker spread diagonally from the right of the tee box to the left of the green, with a little pond behind and a few rocks around, and is followed by the par-4 3rd, with a downhill tee shot landing not too far from a few trees in the middle of the fairway and an elevated green. Then, after the right dogleg par-4 4th hole, downhill all the way, with a blind tee shot landing near some wide bunkers on both sides of the fairway in the corner, you will face the par-3 5th, with its small elongated bunker diagonally across the fairway, halfway, and ending to the right of the green. The left dogleg par-5 6th hole is very short (about 450 yards) and tricky but, if you hit your slightly-downhill tee shot to the right of the tree-lined fairway, you might be able to reach (with a little luck !) the elevated (and hidden) slanted green on your second shot through the narrow gap between trees, before moving on to the easier left dogleg par-4 7th, with a downhill tee shot and a wide bunker, all the way in front of the elevated green. After the right dogleg par-4 8th hole, with a slightly-uphill tee shot and a green, slightly downhill, with another big bunker in front, you will reach the tough right dogleg par-5 9th, with a downhill tee shot landing near a meandering path on the left of the undulating fairway, a blind second shot over a small slope on the right, and a third shot to the elevated green, with wide bunkers around. The back 9 starts with the straight par-4 10th hole, with a downhill tee shot and an uphill approach to the green, and continues with the right dogleg par-4 11th, downhill all along a tree-lined fairway and with a little pond, hidden by tall trees, on the right side of the green. On the short (around 500 yards) right dogleg par-5 12th hole, after hitting a slightly-uphill tee shot along the tree-lined (and slanted) fairway, you might be able to reach the downhill green (hidden by trees) on your second shot, before moving on to the short (about 340 yards) left dogleg par-4 13th, uphill all the way with two elongated bunkers next to each other diagonally, and not too far in front of the green. Then, after the “easy” downhill par-3 14th hole, you will need to hit a blind tee shot on the right dogleg par-4 15th, downhill all the way (with a nice tree-lined fairway), and a second shot over some high trees to reach the very small undulating green, surrounded by three small bunkers, before getting a little bit of relief of the left dogleg par-4 16th hole, with a blind and uphill tee shot and a slightly-elevated green. On the par-3 17th hole, you will need to hit a blind and downhill tee shot over a big pond, midway, while making sure to avoid a small elongated bunker all the way across and in front of the green, before heading to the long (around 590 yards) and left dogleg par-5 18th where, after hitting your blind and downhill tee shot over some deep rough and bushes, landing near a small elongated lake on the left, you will be faced with a very long and challenging second shot over some high trees and bunkers in the left corner (with more trees further to the right), if you want to try to reach the hidden elevated green. With its gorgeous mountains as a backdrop, nice plantings and textures used for the fairways and greens, this Forest Meadows course, superbly designed by cellist56, combines beauty and toughness and is a pure delight to watch, play and a definite keeper !

I fail to see why courses need to be made for tour play. This is an outstanding course made for the game rather than emulating reality the reason that fantasy is the course type. I'm a definate fan and looking forward to more releases by this architect. Make em harder but give us an out ;) thumbs up!!

I have been considering doing a real course but im not sure where to start. I've read a little about TA but it seems like it would be really hard to get everything exactly right.

A wonderful design. Your designs just keep getting better. How about a real course...say Southern Hills CC. Seems that the great old courses are slipping away.....lol

Thanks everyone for the feedback, it's much appreciated. Jim: next time I am in Idaho I'll take you up on that lol. JP: I know what you are taking about. I specifically designed a gap of trees to accomodate drives from about 290 to 325 yards so that when in that area one can shoot over the trees and toward the greens. The whole course is designed for shot placement which on some holes may take a few plays to figure out the best approach.

well thought out but on hole 6 the Tee shot leaves no place for shot 2 green thru trees and well gr8 ideas on design but make it mor playable for the upper levels of the game like advance or ecpert in breezy or gusty winds then u might have a winner, yes its hard to design a tough course4 playable for all but make it that the shot path leaves you a direct path to green and the trees smaller to hit over or kinda out of way like i said some gr8 design ideas but not really playable for many clubs on their tour

Very nice job. Big improvement over the previous courses. Greens are tougher and trees and bunkers well placed. Keep up the good work, enjoyed the round.
