Gorgeous links course set next to the sea. With plenty of undulated fairways and high rough, this par-72 course plays well even though it is not overly difficult, if you have a little bit of... Irish luck to avoid the few bunkers spread around the course. The par-4 1st hole has a very nice view of the hills and the par-4 5th hole, a nice view of the sea. If you are lucky enough, you might see a little house with a thatched roof on the 7th hole which should not stop you from admiring the par-4 8th hole. On the back 9, a few doglegs with narrow fairways will test your accuracy, such as on the par-4 16th and the par-5 17th. Overall, Dunluce Links is a very enjoyable experience, thanks to the CGX team !

Excellent course!. Play with breeze and heavy rough (at least for me) - and with the narrow fairways - plays like the Open should play. Thank you for this design and uploading for all of us to enjoy.

Highest rating for this course along with the Valley Course,(ok, all 4 of your courses) Well designed, great blend of textures and pano. A real pleasure to play. Thanks for all the hard work and effort in building these High Quality Courses. I only wish CGX Design Team would share a few more of these Diamond Class courses, thanks again ..... rlslay

Portrush has always been one of my favorite courses. This was really well done! Always neat to see a designer pushing the limits of the software. Please don't get discouraged over the lack of downloads or comments. It's a natural part of the process. Unless somebody pulls a rabbit out of their hat, we'll all someday realize that this was the "Golden Age" of computer golf design.

Awesome! Playing this with the slower greens is WAY more like the real deal. Having played and caddied at the course, this now is a real trip down memory lane - thanks Pete - great job :)

Thanks Pete - for the slower greens - you're a gent :) Unfortunately I havent had a chance to try this out yet, apologies for that, still recovering from an injury, but i will sure get to it and make comment, Pete. I always enjoy your courses, they never dissapoint, and I know you are pretty much of a perfectionist :)

Very fun course. I noticed the lack of sand too but i think the narrow fairways and unforgiving rough make up for that. Really enjoyed playing it!

A great job on this one, in typical CGX fashion.

Perhaps the Valley course could use a few more bunkers to tighten it up a bit but I would say the natural contours and general penal quality of the outlying rough make up for the lack of bunkers, especially iff the wind gets up!

For those who may not know...The Dunluce Course is imo a far better course than the Valley, its the 'main course' at Portrush and will very likely be back on The Open roster soon. It may be harder, longer and not as easy to plot your way round but it is a fair challenge ,more accurate, had a lot more work put into it and I even put slower stock greens on this version of it just for Davy! Probably the better of the two Royal's but in saying that both are excellent. Lack of bunkers over the two designs is surprising. Enjoyed the walk.
