Stunning design, absolutely gorgeous to look at. A great little course too, obviously not the full challenge of its bigger sibling, but tough at times and packed with character and great holes. I particularly liked two of the par 3's on the back, 11 and 18 - and the views from the 5th were amazing. A brilliant design, as always from CGX, I was enthralled all the way. Cheers!

After playing the Dunluce course a few hours ago, this course ranks up there too, even though it is not as spectacular, being inland.
But this par-70 links course is very well done with undulated fairways, great coastline panorama and rough, high enough to bother you on a few errant shots. For once, bunkers are not too much of a problem as there are hardly noticeable.
Being in the valley, be prepared to hit a lot of downhill shots with great views, such as on the par-3 3rd and the par-4 5th holes. The par-4 7th, pretty straight, has a very narrow fairway in the middle and the par-4 9th, with its yardage, will tempt you to try to reach the green with your driver...
My favorite hole on the back 9 is the par-5 12th with its very narrow fairway while the rest of the holes are not too difficult on this course, well designed (once again !) by the CGX team.

Sorry to hear that Sandie, iff you haven't already perhaps try uninstalling the libs associated with the course then reinstall them again, might help.

Thanks Pete. Tried numerous uninstalls and redownloads, everything checks out OK, just wrong texture showing up on the green. Sounds like a nice course though.

In both instances iff all the libs are showing as installed and as yours are the only problems people have reported I'd suggest uninstalling and trying a fresh install, probably just a faulty download.

Not sure what is wrong at my end, but the greens are the wrong texture when it loads, it comes up with fairway textures, divits and all, but no holes? Any idea what I need to do to make it work?
thanks

Agree with all the nice comments made. Very enjoyable course. The clubhouse appears to show up in outline, could have done with a bit more detail. Good blending of the foreground with the pano. Especially liked the 17th hole. It all raises the question..,if or when we will see the Dunluce course.

Definitely not cursed - BLESSED! Main thread has been attention to detail & this eye candy really gives you a "rush". May we be blessed with more...

Tranzmembrified just to explain, both courses and the par3 course are all drawn out on the same plot, when designing the Dunluce course I decided to attempt to draw the whole layout as not detailing the Valley course would have mean't having very bare areas to the left of the course so basically what I mean is there is 2 courses and a par3 course all drawn out on one plot which was a bit of a worry as I was worried some folk might suffer from lag due to the size and amount of shapes and detail on the plot. Thanks very much for the great comments and positive response everyone! C: Davy are we really cursed? :D

I have played this course a few times and caddied for my Father on it as well. Superb rendition of the course and pano. It really does "take one back there" for anyone familiar with the course. Great attention to detail as always, Pete. The undulations, the ability for the ball to take a strange bounce now and then - that is al very "Portrush". To really "imitate the real thing" I would recommend that the very dry players actualy play this one on the dry setting, as the pgax texture is very much dryer and faster than these greens would ever be. This is however not a criticism, just an observation for those who like to play this game and it's courses as closely to how the real thing plays as possible. Great curse and a real bit of nostalgia for me :)

Excellent work gentlemen.
The panorama is real like a photograph.
If you don't like golf that much, just look at the sea, the coastline, the houses in the distance: very impressive!
A 5 stars course in my opinion!!

Very nice, not laggy at all for me, not exactly high-end hardware: Athlon 64 X2 4400+ and a Radeon 5570 card.

PCDurum, or anyone, for those like me who are ignorant (are there any others?) could you explain what you mean by "you have 45 holes of linksworld going on"?

I will say that those with older or smaller machines may suffer some lag on these courses but you need to understand you have 45 holes of linksworld going on and any lag is due mainl to the fact there is 45 accurately plotted holes on the same plot. :D
