First of all, congratulations for designing an interesting course using only... 3 libraries ! It does not happen very often, so it’s worth mentioning it. As for the course itself, even though it is not the most difficult one you will ever face (with its wide fairways), be prepared to hit plenty of blind tee shots (often over big bushes) on a lot of dogleg holes, before putting on the (mostly) wide greens. On the front 9, after the right dogleg par-4 opening hole (seen on the above picture), and the left dogleg par-4 2nd, uphill with a small lake (midway in the corner, on the right), I like the right dogleg par-5 4th, with its blind and slightly-uphill tee shot over shrubs and deep rough, and its approach over an elongated lake, winding its way from the left all the way across the fairway and ending in front of the green (to the right). On the par-4 6th hole, however, you will have to hit a blind tee shot between tall trees in order to get close to the flag, about 310 yards away, if you want to have a chance for an eagle, before moving on to the straight par-5 7th where, despite a small lake (midway on the right) and a winding fairway, you should be able to reach the green on your second shot, if you can avoid the wide bunker in front. Then, after a blind tee shot flying past trees (on the left), partially hiding the green on the par-3 8th hole, water will come into play on the right dogleg par-4 10th hole (with an elongated lake, halfway on the left), and on another right dogleg, the short par-5 12th, with a blind tee shot over some bushes (and along an elongated lake, partially hidden by trees on the right), where you should have another eagle opportunity. But my favorite hole, on the back 9, is the pretty and challenging par-5 14th, with a blind tee shot landing near an elongated lake, splitting the fairway diagonally, leaving you with a very long second shot toward its slightly-elevated green. Finally, after the straight par-4 15th hole, with a tee shot over more shrubs and deep rough and a short approach toward the green (with a small lake on the right to watch for), and the slightly-uphill left dogleg par-4 17th, with an elongated lake, on the right, ending behind the green, you will hit your last (and blind) tee shot over tall shrubs on the right dogleg par-4 18th, before firing a long approach to reach the green. As a whole, this Western Cross Golf Resort 2012 course has a few scenic views (with its nice trees and water hazards), but just like Scully and Nightprowler mentioned, with so many bushes up front, near the tee boxes, along with those huge trees in the way on the 6th hole, this par 72 is a little bit unusual which is why it is a fantasy course !

Great job of blending the textures and very nice job of vary height and type of colorful trees and plants. Whole course played smooth, liked hole 3 par 3 great job. Not so sure about all those plants in front of the each tee box, and the wall of trees in front of hole 6, and the wrong wood texture used around the ponds, but i understand that you's all try and make each course a little different and try new ideas for a fantasy course, and that each player and designer has his or her's our taste....(IMO). Still a very enjoyable course and thank you for sharing

This is the type of layout that you can go out have some fun, try different shots and enjoy the walk. Nothing is going to bob up and bite you type of track. Enjoyed the walk and look forward to your next one.

A welcome criticism scully, and I appreciate the time and effort in playing my course to the extent that it made you feel the need to comment. I appreciate any suggestions to make any future courses I may do better. Again, thank you...

I find that, at least for me, it is quite difficult to rate a fantasy course... IMHO. 'Im just a real course kind of guy'. I hesitate to criticize anyone who puts so much work into these designs. Therefore, I often shy away from leaving a comment, pro or con regarding a fantasy course. In this designers case I felt a need to leave a few remarks. For one...there is talent here in this designer. The greens in particular were nicely done and played smoothly on very dry. The plantings were fine though perhaps a bit too much but its not a major complaint. The fairways were imaginative though IMHO they would have benefited from a few lumps and bumps. I felt there were entirely too many blind tee shots and little if any changes in elevation which might have made the course a bit more interesting. I liked the fact that water came into play as often as it did, but was non-plussed regarding the wood abutments surrounding each water hazard. All in all a very respectable effort. I would like to see your next design be a real course.
