Gorgeous course all around, from the city skyline to the landscape, from the textures used on the fairways to the nice plantings everywhere. Even though all holes have downhill slopes, there are enough doglegs and water hazards to keep you on your toes. Favorite holes on the front 9 include the right dogleg par-5 1st, the par-3 4th and par-4 7th, for their beautiful 180-degree overviews around the greens, and the right dogleg par-4 9th hole, with a small creek running across near the tee box and a big pond near the green, surrounded by nice flowers. Coming back, I like the two par-3 13th (gorgeous with its big lake in front) and 16th holes (with a stream running along on the left side and a small pond near the green), and the par-4 18th hole, with its pond on the left side of the green and the grandstands and clubhouse behind. Not only this par 70 is a definite keeper, it is also better than the CGX version, released 4 years later, with water looking... blue (and not grainy and yellow) !

..what Ray said. Always been a favourite course of mine and this is the ultimate version - perfection in every way. It's a genuine classic layout - demanding yet fair - and proves that flashy architecture ain't needed to make a compelling course. Top-shelf, "can't touch this" design, it doesn't get any better. Cheers!

Hi BULLPUPP2
While playing at a tourny site at Inter and Novice levels in GUSTY winds I found that shots were 7 to 8 yards off...when into the wind or wind behind you...I'v hit these same shots hundreds of times...this is the 1st course that the shots were off so much... this was a bit of a bummer since it took me about a year to figure out how to play in gusty conditions..and to trust the shot...and now(on this course it/they does not work)but anywho its just a game and you are a very good designer...so kep the courses coming...but maybe test them a bit more..if you have the time Thanks very much

Hi BULLPUPP2
Nice tough course...1 problem...on the 11th tee...your woods play like there in the fairway...I lose 11 yards with my 12degree driver.

Nice rendition "puppy". I have always found your work to be top shelf, exactly where one would expect to find all the classic course designs. This design is no exception. Well done Bill.

Excellent design from a very talented designer. Loved the fairway textures. Colonial is like Cog Hill, never ages and a pleasure to play. Enjoyed the walk.
