Last of the four Blackadder courses, this par 73 has some wide open fairways, with sparsely but strategically-planted palm trees, some challenging doglegs along the dark blue ocean (with the sound of the waves at times), and a few slightly-elevated holes, making it quite picturesque. It starts with a very unusual sight where, on the left dogleg par-4 1st hole, you will see beautiful flowers representing the architect’s name J&M Design, in front of the tee (a first, as far as I am concerned), before hitting two shots slightly uphill to reach the green ! The straight par-3 2nd hole is easy but pretty, as it is slightly uphill with a bunker almost all around the green, with a few palm trees behind and the ocean further back, and is followed by the straight par-5 3rd, again slightly uphill, with a small u-shaped bunker in the middle halfway through, four more elongated ones on both sides of the fairway and two more bunkers in a half-moon shape in front and around the green with the beach behind. The short (about 290 yards) par-4 4th hole, next to the coastline on the left, is beautiful but tricky, with plenty of deep rough and a few bushes in a small hollow wasteland between the tee and the green, whereas the par-3 5th has a downward slope to the wide green with the ocean behind. The next three holes are pretty nice : the dogleg par-5 6th follows the sandy coastline sharply to the left, the right dogleg par-4 7th hole is short (less than 360 yards), with trees below in a hollow wasteland on the right, and a green at the end of a peninsula (with the ocean on the left and behind), and the par-4 8th "hugs" the coastline on the left but, with a tee shot over the beach, you can cut the corner and get a clear view of the green, with some nice palm trees, surrounded by plenty of sand, not far from it on the right. As for the par-3 9th hole, it is straight and downhill, with deep rough and bushes below between the tee and the green, with a nice view of the ocean behind. Coming back, I like the pretty and short (about 340 yards) dogleg par-4 10th hole, with trees on the left and a small lake in the corner, and the scenic par-5 11th, with deep rough and bushes on the right, palm trees facing the tee midway through, and a long approach shot to the green over the sandy beach to reach the green to the left. The straight par-4 12th hole is short (about 340 yards), with three palm trees with sand around in the middle of the wide fairway, blocking the view of the elevated green, unlike the long par-5 (about 610 yards), straight too but with a few bunkers on both sides, making the fairway a little bit narrow before reaching the elevated green. One of my favorite holes is the very picturesque par-3 14th, with a small lake in front and to the right of the green (with a small elongated island and palm trees and flowers in the middle) and a very tough pin placement in the narrowest part of the green with two small bunkers around. Then, after the left dogleg par-4 15th hole, with palm trees and flowers on both sides of the fairway and four bunkers in the corner and a slightly-elevated green, you will reach the straight par-4 16th, with some palm trees on the left side, not far from the fairway, and that small lake (seen on the 14th hole) on the right of the green, before heading for the right dogleg par-4 17th hole, with three palm trees, a little bit to the right near the corner, and the ocean behind the green. You will finish your round with the beautiful and sharp right dogleg par-5 18th hole, with the ocean on the left side, plenty of tall trees on a small hill to the right, and a long blind approach shot to the elevated green, with a very nice clubhouse on the right ! With his own initials seen on the 1st hole, J&M Design found a very original way of signing off his series of four Blackadder courses, each of which offering different challenges, well worth playing and... keeping !
