Well-designed course, not overly difficult, which plays very smoothly and where, with its wide fairways and gentle greens, you should score well.
On the front 9, I like the par-3 8th hole, surrounded halfway by bunkers and a small creek, but most of the more challenging and scenic holes are on the back 9. The par-4 11th, for example, is quite nice with its meandering creek, running across and parallel to the fairway. The par-3 13th hole is relatively easy and quite pretty with bunkers around the green and a beautiful clubhouse behind it.
The last three holes are quite picturesque with shots over quarries : on the left dogleg par-4 16th, it will be on your approach shot, whereas, on the par-3 17th, my favorite hole, you will have sweaty palms teeing off all the way to the green as the quarry is quite big. As for the par-4 18th hole, the quarry is facing the tee box and should not be a problem.
With its beautiful roads and stone houses, this course is quite pleasant to look at and fun to play, thanks to ron717 !

Classic course recreated brilliantly. It really is quite beautiful, in a simple rustic way, and there's a peaceful "this is golf" feeling to it all. The course itself, steeped in history, is a solid challenge, without being the hardest amongst the big tournament tracks. But there's definitely something special about going round this one - a great design. Cheers!

Just downloaded...have not played yet. But have installed and played your courses. And by reading the comments by other know designers Im sure this course will be great. Thanks for your time and effort, for this...past and future courses.

For those of you that thought ron717 had disappeared...well he is back...with a vengeance...Ron I am going to stick my neck out here, but for the first time ever, Merion GC and The Ravens Nest are back to back 5 star status from the same designer. also Merion GC is going to get my special CULT status rating....lol these courses are perfect in everyway 2 blinders more power to you Ron, and thanks for these 2 to go with your outstanding collection of courses they hold a special place on my hard drive...lol
