Finally, Tiger Woods is no longer on his knees ! (see explanations further down)
Unlike other players who were able to compare and comment on this updated version of the 2008 EA's stock course, my comments will only concern this well-designed par 71 course.
With its pretty landscape and beautiful plantings, there are plenty of challenging holes with nice elevation changes done by Neil Munro.
The first three holes require downhill tee shots with, my favorite, being the par-5 1st, with its tennis courts on the left side of the fairway. I also like the downhill to the left par-4 5th hole with its slanted fairway and the scenic par-3 6th hole, with its downhill green and its beautiful villas above.
The par-4 8th hole is quite original with its... two fairways and its elongated bunker and high rough in the middle all the way through : in fact, you can hit your tee shot either left or right, even though the "hole fly-by" option shows you the 'right" option !
The back 9 starts with a risk/reward par-4 10th hole, where you will have to decide if you want to reach the green (304 yards away) with your driver, knowing that bunkers will await you on the right side... The rest of the course is less scenic, except for the easy par-3 16th hole, surrounded by bunkers and nice villas, until you reach the doggeg to the right par-4 18th hole, with its uphill tee shot and nice view around the green.
If you want to enjoy a great round of golf, The Riviera Country Club is one of these courses worth playing (and keeping !), thanks to Neil Munro's updated version !

P.S. Playing with the TW07 edition, there are a few courses that crash, right at the start of the downloading process, and others that do near the end. When the latter situation occurs, I know that I have to restart TW07 with the animated trees option set to "off" to solve that problem.
However, with this course (and 4 more), it downloaded fine, then I saw the 1st "hole fly by" run normally until Tiger showed up... on his knees, ready to tee off ! After trying different ideas, I thought it was hopeless until I found out, by chance, that setting the animated trees to "off", right from the start, did the trick !
Since then, everything is back to normal and I will hurry to play the other four courses to see what I have been missing...

Another reboot of a stock course which is vastly superior & as with the others I've tried so far, easier to negotiate. I don't know what's on the real thing, but there are 2 things on the stock course that always annoyed me - the tree near the tee on the par 3 14th & the AI club selection on the 18th tee. Thankfully, Neil has taken these out of the equation - no tree on the 14th & no hill in front of the 18th tee. This will now be MY Riviera stock course - have to give Neil's TPC Boston a go now...

Another great work from you. Very nice layout without any probs. All levels find a great and fair course and for me a better version here. Well done Neil and thank you for sharing here.

Nice version Neil. FPS much better than other versions of Riviera. Saw a dodgy pin here and there, but all in all a very fine course. Thanks Neil and I always look forward to your releases.
