A beautiful links course, with a gorgeous Scottish panorama, very few trees, some gorse flowers, and with all, but one, slightly-downhill holes, quite a few undulating and/or narrow fairways, and plenty of water hazards to go along with a few small pot bunkers.
After the par-4 1st hole, quite pretty with its panoramic view from the tee box, and its small and elongated lake on the left midway, one of my favorite holes is the straight par-3 2nd, with a little pond on the left, a little bit in front of the green, and an isolated little chapel, further to the right, at the end of a small tree-lined road and not too far from a wide lake.
The par-5 3rd hole is another gem with a narrow fairway, parallel to a tiny road on the right, ending near the wide lake, and with a little pond, again in front and to the left, not far from the green, and is followed by the similar par-4 4th, with an elongated pond to the left and in front of the green and a lone tree on the right, partially hiding the green.
On the left dogleg par-4 5th hole, you will have to be careful with your tee shot to avoid the small ponds on the left in the corner, just like on the very scenic par-3 6th, with a big elongated pond on the left and a smaller one behind the green, again on the left.
The 7th hole is the third par-5 on the front 9 and has more ponds, on the left and, again, across in front of the green, unlike the par-4 8th, where a tiny creek runs on the right side of the tee box.
Another one of my favorite holes is the left dogleg par-4 9th, very pretty with trees in front hiding an elongated pond in the corner, and with a nice clubhouse behind the green on the left.
The back 9 starts with the risk/reward short (about 300 yards) par-4 10th hole, with an elongated marshland on the left and an... elevated green, and is followed by the picturesque left dogleg par-4 11th, with greenhouses on the far left of the tee area, a couple of pot bunkers in the left corner, an elongated lake in the right corner, and a smaller one (with a few trees around) on the left of the green, with that chapel, way in the back.
Then, after the left dogleg par-4 12th hole, with more water to contend with, and the par-3 13th, surrounded by six pot bunkers, you will face the beautiful right dogleg par-5 14th hole, with an undulating and very narrow fairway and a long approach shot to the green, with a big pond on the right, a couple of pot bunkers on the left, and a big three-story stone house behind at the end of a dead-end narrow road !
The par-4 15th hole, on another hand, is a left dogleg with a tee shot over a big pond and a narrow green, surrounded by water behind halfway around, and is followed by the pretty par-3 16th, with a tee shot over a big pond and a gorgeous panoramic view of the valley as you reach the green.
Then, after the right dogleg par-4 17th hole, with a big pond on the right of the green, you will finish with the beautiful right dogleg par-5 18th, with a small meandering lake on the right, running all the way across in front of the green, before heading for a well-deserved rest at the clubhouse on the right.
Once again, Jimbo63 should be commened for coming up up with another magnificent and challenging course where you spend your time admiring the scenery while enjoying a very peaceful round of golf...

Ditto earlier comments Jimbo, especially those of amazingace & PhilT. Nice touch on most of the longer holes, where the flag is not visible from the tee. Must confess, while on the 14th tee & looking at the overhead, I thought you'd given us a choice of fairways to use - the one on the right looked shorter but meant approach shot over water, so I went with that & birdied. Once on the 15th tee, I realised I'd just used the 15th's fairway as a shortcut to the 14th green! Well it WAS my first go on this fantasy course, but there's a hint for anyone having their first round. You've been prolific this year Jimbo & all have been 5* efforts - thanks again...

Well made course- still interesting and really need strategic shots even without the usual tree placement for risk reward.
5/5

Hands down your best course to date Jimbo and thats saying a lot. Fantastic views and very realistic in playability. If it were possible to give more then 5 stars, this course would get it.

When I play TW08 courses situated in Scotland I always choose clear (sunny) weather, almost no wind and playing during the afternoon.
So completely different from the usual Scottish weather.
But no matter what you choose: the highlands with the lochs (which loch is this supposed to be?) are always impressive and moreover this course has the character of a links course which I'm fond of.
Even the panorama library was new to me, so very refreshing....
Like almost all Jimbo courses this is a juwel too, so don't hesitate to download and play this one: it's a real pleasure!

This is an excellent use of one of the most dramatic panos out there. Really impressive and fun to play.

Hi Jimbo, don't even need to read the reviews about your courses, I know from past experience they are always first class.
And this one is no exception - another excellent course.
