A thoroughly-enjoyable course, not difficult but very pretty to look at, with its “verdura” which, in this case, does not refer to “vegetables" (its Spanish or Italian translation) but, rather, to its greenery, seen all over on this par 72, set inland, with a few holes, not too far from the ocean. One of my favorite holes, on the front 9, after the right dogleg par-4 1st, where you can cut the corner by hitting your tee shot over thick trees, is the nice par-3 2nd, with a downhill and blind tee shot over a few trees. Then, after the right dogleg par-5 4th hole, with its downhill tee shot landing onto a narrow fairway, and where you should be able to putt for an eagle, you will start seeing the ocean on the straight par-4 5th, with a tee shot over a small creek, an undulating fairway and a blind approach to the green, before seeing it even closer on the nice and short (about 125 yards) par-3 6th hole, with an elongated pond on the left, and the sea, not too far from the green on the left and behind. Coming back, I like the nice dogleg par-5 11th hole, slightly-uphill all the way, where you should hit your tee shot to the left, over a small creek and a few trees, in order to have a (slight) chance to reach the green (to the right) with a very long and blind second shot over more trees and deep rough (and a few bushes), further behind, not to mention a small bunker on the right... But the best holes on the back 9 are the last three : the 16th is a par-3, with a slightly-downhill tee shot over some rough and a nice panoramic view of the ocean as you reach the green, and the par-4 17th hole is a left dogleg, with a slanted fairway and a few bunkers scattered all along on the left side, with a heavily-sloped green. As for the par-4 18th hole (seen on the illustrating picture), it is quite scenic, with another slanted fairway, parallel to the ocean on the far right, and a nice view as you reach the green with that Maderas clubhouse behind and a “cute” small parking lot on the left. If you want to have a stress-free round of golf, you should head for this well-designed Verdura East course : with (hopefully) a couple of eagles on its par-5 holes, and a few birdies on its par-3s, you should finish with a low score before moving on to discover its West version, also designed by Jimbo63...

See my comment at the Verdura west course section, which can also be used for this one. Maybe this (east) course is situated somewhat further away from the sea, and how closer to the sea the better (I live only a few kilometers from the North Sea coast), so a slight preference for the west course. Both course play very nicely; the landscape is great, so...... Rating for this one: 4,6
