Holein1 - If my memory serves my correctly, all four courses were done using the same basic plot. Each of us did two courses. Because of the various course types its not obvious that its the same course wearing different clothes.

Second of the four Blackadder courses, this par 72 offers some nice challenges with quite a few uphill/downhill blind shots, some sharp doglegs and a couple of lakes to watch for, and is pretty too with a gorgeous manor set on a small island as the center of attraction on quite a few holes. On the front 9, my favorite holes are the right dogleg par-4 1st, downhill all the way, with a lake on the left, midway through the slanted fairway, and not too far from the green, the short (about 305 yards) and risky par-4 3rd hole, uphill all the way with a slanted fairway and some nice houses, a little bit further behind the green, and the par-5 4th, with a blind uphill tee shot and a downhill slope leading to the green. I also like the two par-5 holes, the 6th, with a blind and slightly-uphill tee shot and a small lake on the right, not far from the elevated green, and the long (more than 600 yards) and sharp right dogleg 8th hole, with a slanted fairway and four little bunkers in the middle of the fairway, near the green, not to mention the par-3 9th, with its gorgeous sight of the beautiful manor behind the downhill green. Coming back, the straight par-4 10th hole can be quite tricky, with a big bunker in front of a high mound across the fairway, “forcing” you to lay up, but leaving you with a very tough second shot to try to reach the steeply-elevated green. Then, after the straight par-3 11th hole, with deep rough on both sides of a narrow fairway, you will reach the gorgeous par-3 12th, with a downhill green, again overlooking the manor behind, before heading for the right dogleg par-4 14th hole, with its blind tee shot downhill and a small lake to the left and behind the green. You will finish your round with two nice holes : the par-3 17th is straight but very steep uphill, and on the par-5 18th hole, you will need to hit a blind and uphill tee shot followed by another blind approach shot to reach the downhill green and its spectacular view of the manor below... With its nice landscape and plantings, The Blackadder Lakes course is as enjoyable as the Canyon course, and I am already looking forward to discovering the last two of the series, all designed by J&M !

Downloaded this a long time ago & finally played it - actually thought I was doing a "refresher" round, but once on that first tee it was a case of "Oops, different Blackadder!" Lots of little surprises here, like bunkers hidden down low in a valley of rough, hitting towards the clubhouse on the 12th & an 18th green you don't want to overhit. All beautifully set out, though - lovely to look at & lovely to play on...

I downloaded this course first and gave it a try. Really nice. Enjoyed playing it. I then downloaded the Canyon course. Another good one. I like the Lakes course better but they are both worth a play.

Great course! get the Drives right and you are okay thought there might be more lakes than there was..but I usually end up in most lakes so no bother for me!..Have not played the Canyon one yet but if its as good as this WOW is the word for it.
