What a change of pace and... scenery after just finishing playing at Olde Cypress ! From the lush holes of Florida to the bare Colorado land, with its majestic snow-capped mountains as a backdrop, the contrast is striking. And it continues on this par-72 course with water hazards mainly on the back 9... The front 9 has a few nice holes like the dogleg to the right par-4 3rd, with those isolated trees in the corner, and the par-3 5th hole - my favorite - with the flag, standing all alone against the gorgeous and mountainous background. I also like the (very) long and straight par-5 6th hole, with its lone house on the right, and the par-3 7th hole, pretty with trees around the green and another small house further down. As for the par-4 8th hole, it is the only hole with water nearby. The back 9 is more challenging with the par-4 10th with water all along the fairway, the par-4 11th with its green a little bit isolated while the par-3 12th, with water in front of the green, is pretty. The par-4 15th, a dogleg to the right, also can be mentioned along the par-5 18th where you will finally see the clubhouse ! With few and shallow bunkers (unlike those Scottish ones !), this course is a nice way to relax with its breathtaking views of the mountains, provided that you don't mind being all... alone ! Nice job, ron717...
