After playing this course, I am totally exhausted ! With no paths anywhere, you will end up carrying your own golf bags through very high and thick grass, trying to reach small fairways far apart from each other, while praying that crocodiles and elephants will keep basking in the sun...
Welcome to Cello's fantasy world ! With his wild imagination, this par 72 is quite scenic with its gorgeous sun-lit mountain panorama and wide open space. A lot of holes look very nice and other... unreal, yet they end up being quite playable despite all the obstacles in the way (trees, huge rocks, water hazards), provided, of course, that you hit close-to-perfect shots !
Standout holes include the steep uphill par-4 1st and the par-3 2nd, very scenic with the mountains as a backdrop, a small pond in front of the green, and two not-so-friendly... crocodiles (don't wear Lacoste polo shirts near them !).
The next few holes are quite challenging : the uphill par-5 3rd, where you will hop from one small fairway to another, with a pond in the middle and a tiny green, the par-4 4th, with its tiny island green surrounded by a small cliff, and the par-3 5th, where the small green is hidden by trees.
The green of the scenic par-5 6th hole seems unreachable on your second shot, but if you land your ball in the small fairway, away from the bushes and trees, you can reach it with a huge shot over the wide lake and you will be rewarded with the sight of 4 flamingos nearby...
Then, after playing the nice par-3 8th hole, with its green hidden by trees, you will reach the par-5 9th, with its small fairway far apart from the elevated green... too far to reach on your second shot. Your only chance, then, is to land your ball in the high rough to avoid being in the bushes and around the trees guarding the green.
The back 9 starts with a “funny” sight on the uphill par-4 10th, with big-paw-shaped bunkers after you hit your tee shot. Then, if the next three holes look unplayable, at first glance, they are not... if you hit precise shots : the par-5 12th is a dogleg to the left (with two elephants standing below the elevated green), the par-4 13th is slightly downhill with huge rocks blocking the view of the fairway and the green, and the par-3 14th, quite scenic, has an elevated green surrounded by big rocks in the middle of nowhere !
If the par-5 15th hole is nice, with two huge rocks in the middle of the fairway, and a downhill green (with an elephant near a pond on the left side), the right dogleg par-4 16th offers a gorgeous panoramic downhill view.
As for the last two holes, they are beautiful but totally different : the par-3 17th has a downhill island green, “guarded” by an elephant, whereas the par-5 18th hole has… two elephants staring at you on the very narrow downhill fairway before reaching the elevated green !
Needless to say, Heart of Africa is something else and Cello deserves a lot of credit for creating such a course that, despite its seemingly insurmontable obstacles, is a lot of fun !

There are no Out of Bounds on intended Fairways thank you very much ... i assume your talking about the cross fairway .... 1 fairway for 1 hole & 1 for the other hole ... to allow you to enter both fairways would on the drive would destroy the hole shape ... Oh & go look at Central Park by EA sports there are 2 OBs on fairways that would destroy a hole shape .... play the hole as was intended .. dont try to take short cuts .
