Seeing that this course was designed by... Rambo909plyr (!), you might think twice before packing your golf bags and heavy sweaters and fly to Alaska !
Well, as it turned out, despite its misspelled name (should be Iditarod !), this par 72 is a delightful surprise, as Rambo909plyr came up with a very scenic fantasy course (helped by a pretty snow-capped mountainous panorama designed by rlslay, and snow by Danut Golf), with plenty of elevation, doglegs, blind shots, nice plantings and a few pretty wooden houses.
On the short and sharp dogleg to the left par-4 1st hole, you will have to settle for a straight and uphill tee shot and a downhill approach to the green, as the latter is unreachable from the tee box with too many trees in the corner.
Then, after the uphill par-4 2nd hole, with a tee shot over some very high weeds and an undulated fairway, you will move on to the “very misleading” short and sharp dogleg to the left par-4 3rd, uphill all the way, with a very high and snowy hill on the left, and a very long second shot to reach the green, with a little snowy mound in front !
The par-3 4th hole looks pretty but is not as easy as it seems, with snow all around and two small bunkers in front of the green, and is followed by the right dogleg par-5 5th, with an uphill tee shot landing onto the fairway set on a plateau, and a very long uphill approach over deep rough and three wide bunkers scattered along the way toward the green, set at the bottom of a high snowy hill.
By comparison, the left dogleg par-5 6th hole looks easier, with its wide-open view of the mountains in front, its undulated fairway and elevated green, with another big bunker in front...
The par-3 7th is my favorite hole on this course, despite its length (318 yards with tournament tees), with its uphill tee shot flying right in front of the windows (!) of a beautiful and big wooden house, on top of a high snowy hill (on the left), and is followed by the left dogleg par-4 8th, uphill all the way, with a steep approach to the green, with two bunkers (left and right) to watch for, and the short (320 yards) downhill par-4 9th hole, with deep rough and a bunker on the right in front of the green.
You will start coming back, with the left dogleg par-4 10th hole, with a blind and uphill tee shot landing... downward followed by a steeply-downhill approach to the small and undulating green, with a serpentine bunker on the left and a few trees on the right, before facing the pretty left dogleg par-4 11th, downhill all the way with two blind shots and a nice small wooden house behind the green.
Then, after the wide open par-4 12th hole, with its tiered and downhill fairway, and its second shot over more snow toward the green, slightly to the right, you will head for the short and tricky left dogleg par-4 13th, with an uphill tee shot landing near a split fairway, with some trees in the corner, hiding the view of the downhill green.
The par-4 14th hole is quite scenic with a straight and uphill tee shot landing onto a small fairway, set on a plateau, and a blind and slightly-downhill shot over more snow toward the sloped green (set at the bottom of a big snowy hill), and is followed by the pretty left dogleg par-4 15th, with a little... well on the right side of the tee box, and with a blind and steeply-downhill tee shot and an uphill approach to an elevated green, with a bunker across in front.
On the long par-4 16th hole, uphill all the way, getting a birdie won’t be easy with a winding fairway and trees on the left, midway, and on the right, a little bit further, partially hiding the elevated and sloped green, hard to reach even with a very long second shot, with a bunker across in front to watch for !
Fortunately, you should be able to birdie the steeply-downhill par-3 17th hole, before finishing with the very challenging right dogleg par-4 18th, with a split fairway, halfway, and a blind approach over more snow and around trees, hiding the green, way to the right.
Even though I did not see any huskies nor any sleds anywhere, and the snow does not "behave" like a bunker when your ball lands into it), this "Iditirod" Run Resort will give you a good run... for your money, thanks to the very imaginative design by Sylvester Stallone (I mean, Rambo909plyr...) !

Fun Course. Look forward to more. Definately not a birdie birdie eagle birdie course.
Greens could be a little tougher but fun to play. Keep up the good work.

Liked the layout. What I didn't like was A few of the textures. The first cut and the ruff, Was like playing on duct tape. Also A few of the bunkers had plants in them. Just my 2 cents. Greens were good nothing to steep. All in all good work on this course.
Thanks, Rick
