Stunning design and a great course. The layout is varied with two very distinct nines and the difficulty increases through the round. The screws really tighten, literally, at the turn where the fairways narrow and the lake comes into play. The architecture around this lake is brilliant, for it plays a prime role in the half-dozen or so holes it appears - certainly not just decoration - and features some of the course's best holes. This is superb work here (especially if a "rush job"!) - it's beautiful to look at, smooth and realistic, and a joy to play - a definite 5 stars. Cheers!

For a course done in a "rush" (to be included in a tournament), according to the designer, this is a beauty, so I took my... time to admire the views and the landscape !
First of all, I have to say that I "loved" those cute tee markers so much (miniature sailboats !) that I was disappointed when I did not see them on a couple of holes (3rd, 6th and 10th).
On the front 9, set inland, the par-3 2nd hole is nice just like the par-5 3rd hole with its two blind shots (from the tee, uphill, and to the green, downhill). On the par-3 7th, you will hit a blind shot downhill and have a chance to see the city skyline in the background.
As for the par-4 9th and its slanted fairway, the view of the clubhouse near the green is pretty.
The back 9 is very different and more spectacular as it is set on the riverbank. The par-4 10th is very nice and straight, unlike the par-5 11th, which is even nicer. Around the green of the par-4 12th, you have nice buildings to look at, whereas on the par-4 13th, small ponds are on both sides of the fairway.
The final holes are simply gorgeous : the par-3 14th with its tee shot above the water with high-rise buildings as a backdrop, the par-4 15th with a sailboat on the far right, similar to the tee markers where, if you are in a gambling mood, you can reach the green from the tee (and watch your shot fly above the water), and the par-3 16th with the green very close to the river.
The final two holes have slanted fairways, with a blind tee shot from the par-5 17th tee and a nice view of the clubhouse as you reach the green of the par-4 18th.
Needless to say, I really enjoyed my first "trip" to Malaysia and I hope you will too as J&M Design did a great job with this course... even in a rush !

How did you know it was "M" who replied? Was it because it was spelt correctly?

We only had 6 days to get this ready for a tournament last year. We wanted to release it so people could play the course at the same time the Pro's were playing it, but we have 2 other courses we are working on and didn't want to get heavily involved with another so we just tidied up a few little things and released it "as is". I doubt if many people use anything other than pro tees so it didn't seem worth delaying it for that reason

Pretty good, but curious as to why it was 'a rush job'? Why not take the time and do it right the first time?
Not slaggin', just curious.

Not a bad rendition at all. Some of the fairway elevations are a bit out but other than that a very good effort as usual.
Well done.
