One of my favorites, over the last few days I played it partially, always failing to complete the round because I hate it when I get 10 over! Finally figured out you better play for wide part of the fairway or you'll end up in wicked weed behind a tree! Shot 3 over, which is fine. Thanks, Sandsaver, just a great course visually, but also a great course to play.

Simply a masterpiece ! This par 70 course is awesome with its nice scenery, light green fairways, elevated and/or downhill greens, not to mention its beautiful plantings, wide sand areae and pretty high rough. There are lots of nice holes on the front 9, starting with the dogleg to the right par-4 1st, the straightforward but scenic par-3 3rd, with its big elongated bunker, and the gorgeous par-3 5th hole, with its tee shot flying over the river. If the dogleg to the right par-4 6th hole is pretty too, the long par-5 7th (635 yards) is very scenic and tough, with three wide bunkers spread across the fairway before reaching the green. On the back 9, the par-3 10th hole is rather easy but quite picturesque with its wide bunkers and nice overview as you reach the green, whereas the dogleg to the right par-4 11th hole is interesting with its bottleneck fairway. But, without a doubt, the signature hole on this course is the stunning "step-down" par-3 14th, with a gorgeous view from the tee box as you hit the "find flag" option : a very narrow path through the woods, flowers on the way down and water across before reaching the green ! The next three holes are quite nice but are not too difficult with their wide fairways, unlike the gorgeous par-4 18th hole, where you will hit your tee shot through a narrow path down to a scenic view of the fairway and its elevated green, near the clubhouse. With its variety of shots, holes and views, this course ranks as one of the top courses available in TW08 and one that you should hurry to download in order to fully appreciate the job that SandSaver did !

From someone who's never seen the course (and likely never will) I played this with equal parts fascination and critique. It's indeed a beautiful and challenging course - the layout keeps you on your toes and there's some nice little quirks. Based on how engrossed and entertained I was - and all the plaudits below - this is a brilliant design. Cheers!

You did an excellent job of recreating the Mecca of golf. Having walked the course several thousand times and played it many times over the years I can say it really does resemble the course, although several of the holes lack the dramatic elevation changes which greatly add to the difficulty as many holes play longer. Slightly more scrub brush and fescue would be accurate as well as a little more undulation and breaks on the greens. Nonetheless a well deserved 4 out of 5!

Great great course!
Don't know how close it is to the real thing. As it isn't a course I will ever get an invite to! ;-)
But I love your layout. And find it a real challenge. Particularly on Very Dry greens.

@ Worrybirdie, Brucman, and JJ - the problems with the 1st tee and 18th tee (as well as a few other problems) are indeed fixable, but I am not sure they are worth a "V2" If i get a groundswell of requests i could do that.
To all, I really appreciate your inputs and am glad that you seem to think the course is an accurate rendition - I really did intensive research into all the available photos, as i have never seen the real course.

Great course! One of my new favorites. The previously mentioned hole routing problem off the 1st tee makes playing against the computer impossible as it will tally up 5-15 strokes trying to pound it through the trees on the left side. Don't know if it is fixable, but I hope so...I enjoy playing the computer occasionally.

nice course Mike.....I dig your textures, they blend well with the deep purgatory rough and your plantings. I really like the rollercoaster Greens and they play great with just a few minor rollbacks which I'm sure was a challenge with all those humps and bumps....Thanks for doing this.

To Putt and BrucMan - thank you both for the very nice feedback, it is very gratifying to know you enjoyed the course. BrucMan - I am sorry about that problem on the 1st tee. I moved the position in the course architect because I could not find any other way at the time to get the entire hole visible on the overhead; I did not figure that very many people would be playing the front tees - I do apologize :(

Excellent, enjoyable course. Have played Pine Valley on other computer games but none have had the vitality of this version with its good elevation work and its copious planting. Small negative comments are that a couple of the earlier bunkers/waste areas had angular outlines and one of covering textures was patterned. Nevertheless giving five stars as to give four stars would be inequitable and also cos I hit a long iron into the eighteenth hole.

I would third the motion that this is an excellent rendition of Pine Valley. I have actually walked the course and the similarity between this version and the real thing is striking. I do think the tee box on 18 should be widened. In addition, the golfer is pointing towards the fourth fairway from the back tee of the first hole. I realize that this is easily corrected for the human player, but if you're using a custom computer player, sh/e tees off with an iron towards the clubhouse, hits the next shot into the woods towards the first fairway, and proceeds to play out with a minimum of seven or eight shots! In an earlier version of the TW games, there was a way to change a misdirected golfer from the tee through the configuration file, but I don't know if you can do that anymore. Does anyone know about this? Again, I want to stress what a great job the designer did on this course. It's earned a solid 4 1/2 stars in my view.

Thanks for the compliments, Jamie - I appreciate it. What is "the Devil's A__Hole" on 10? Is that what they call that little pot bunker in front? As for the 18th Tee, the pictures I saw looked pretty much like that, and the back tee is a direct transfer from the Google Overhead - it is really that small!

Mike, this is a stunning course...I researched this venue extensively and visually you nailed it. Your best design by a mile. It did lag a bit, but my pc always lag when a course uses high weeds though.
The texture are stunning, the greens seem really tough but fair, it is just a really great design all around. Only little things I noticed is the devil's ass hole on ten wasn't deep enough, 18 tee is not lefty friendly and some of the overheads were off, but these are small things compared to the rest of the course. I don't want to be negative though about such a well-built and visually appealing course. Very well done my friend!
