Well, I am on a roll : after Sugarloaf Resort, here is another gorgeous course, not as scary, but still very enjoyable too ! This time, you will spend most of your time hitting powerful drives downhill as this par-72 is set on a high plateau in Colorado. It starts with the par-4 1st hole with its undulated fairway, continues with the nice par-3 2nd, and the dogleg to the left par-4 3rd with is sloped fairway and elevated green. The dogleg to the right par-5 5th is beautiful and requires not one, but two blind shots to reach the green ! If you want to see some bunkers, take a look at the par-4 6th hole, guarded on the right side by 10 (!) small ones and one wide one ! Yet, they can be "easily" avoided..., just like you can avoid the water on the nice par-3 7th hole as the green is rather large. As for the downhill par-4 9th, it offers a nice view from the tee. While all holes on the back 9 look nice too, I like the tough dogleg to the right par-5 13th with its blind shot off the tee, its sloped fairway and its... second blind shot to approach/reach the green : simply beautiful ! On this hole, and on the par-4 14th and 15th, you need to adjust the default tee position of Tiger Woods as he is not really facing the fairway... (a little bit unusual to mention it !). The par-4 16th is nice with water near the green but not difficult while the par-3 17th has a beautiful view with a creek and rocks around it. As for the long dogleg to the left par-5 18th, you can forget about scoring an eagle... Overall, this course is a must download with its gorgeous mountain panorama, beautiful trees and nice plantings. Thumbs up for... Steveusmaximus !
