I think it's been a few years since Jamie was involved with TW08. He and I made a few courses together as JM Design. The best known ones probably being the Cinque and Tres Ultima courses and the Blackadder collection. (shameless plug). Nice to see his name mentioned. He was a good friend.

Hey, JJ, even I noticed...and smiled...at the colorful fall trees - and the course is a pleasure to play, sneaky tough on tee shots, sometimes second shots, but all fair and played well. Know you built it 10 years ago, but hope you read the recent comments and know how much we appreciate your skill and ability.

One of the most colorful courses you will ever play, with gorgeous autumn foliage, nice red flowers and bushes, and with plenty of small ponds to keep you on your toes all the way to the 18th green. The par-4 1st hole sets the tone for what you will be facing, with a tee shot downward a beautiful tree-lined fairway and a slightly-elevated green on the left (with a little pond on the right), and is followed, by two unusual par-3 holes in a row, with the 2nd, going uphill (with a glimpse of a big castle, on the far left), and the 3rd, downhill with a big pond on the left. If on the par-5 4th hole, you will have to be careful approaching the green, slightly to the left, with two more ponds in front and behind, wait until you see the beautiful and very short (about 285 yards) right dogleg par-4 5th where, with trees in the corner and an elongated pond halfway ending near the green on the right, you will have to decide if the risk is worth the reward (I chickened out when I played it, but reached the green with my tee shot in practice !). After a couple of nice par-4 holes (6th, 7th), where small ponds are not real hazards, you will reach the short (about 450 yards) and pretty dogleg par-5 9th, with its wide tree-lined fairway bending sharply to the left around trees, and a tough uphill approach shot to the small green, with a little pond, a little bit below on the left. The back 9 starts with the straight par-4 10th hole, with a downhill tee shot, a few well-placed bunkers on both sides of the fairway, and some nice red bushes next to a cart, halfway on the right, and around the green, and is followed by the right dogleg par-4 11th, one of my favorites, with an uphill tee shot towards the wide fairway and a downhill approach to the green, with a... gorgeous tiny island behind (looking like a postcard !) with a nice gazebo in the middle, surrounded by red flowers and bushes. Needless to say, the par-3 12th hole, with its tee shot over that island is another beauty (despite the horizon moving up and down beyond the trees !). Then, after the left dogleg par-4 14th hole, uphill all the way with plenty of trees in the left corner and a couple of big bunkers in front and to the right of the green, you will reach the short (about 480 yards) dogleg par-5 15th, with a fairway winding its way to the left, then to the right, with trees around the corners, making it quite tough to reach the green on your second shot. After the left dogleg par-4 17th hole, with a round pond midway through on the right of the tree-lined fairway, you will face one last test with the par-4 18th, quite short (about 355 yards), with a downhill tee shot landing onto a fairway quite narrow halfway through, with a bunker on the left and a big pond on the right, ending near the green. Cobalt's Folly is anything... but a folly, as JJHold used his vivid imagination to make it into a pretty and challenging course, worth keeping (despite that little bug on the 12th hole...).

I like the course a lot, but... am I the only one tracking disk space used? Just one required library, 9 Castles of Nii.tcl, expanded is 89 MEGS, by far the largest library I've seen.
By comparison, the whole Google Earth program is 83 MEGS.

thanks everyone for the nice comments...putt...didn't think about it that much lol....it was a huge lake and looked like it needed something to break it up, so I searched libraries to find something, saw that, and built the little park around it :)

Pleasing course. Good variety of trees and colours. A course to stir the imagination.., that bandstand on the 12th.,was that just a folly or was it built for the king's own personal ensemble.

Outstanding course JJ, a thing of beauty. I love fantasy courses that look and play like they could be real. It's challenging but fair. Excellent work - 5 stars

Nice and fun course JJ. But are you sure there is no truth to that story? Sounds awefully familiar to me.
