A nice, tranquil course and an excellent design. Definitely one of Jimbo's strengths is the realism he infuses when crafting his courses, especially the UK ones which obviously comes from first-hand knowledge. Add to that his designs are invariably attractive and it's always a real pleasure playing them and this one's no different. I particularly liked the par 4 7th, where there's a risk-reward element from the tee (really depends on wind direction/strength), the 10th is a great arcing par 4, and the closing 18th is a beautiful one-shotter. Challenging greens and at-times wicked pin placements will keep you in check. I really enjoyed it all the way - with the possible exception of the 15th green - that slope & pin were just plain nasty! (I bagged dbl bogey after hitting it in reg lol). Awesome work as always and loads of fun, cheers!

After playing at North Manchester, I could almost do a "copy-and-paste" comment (from the West Derby Golf Club in Liverpool where I just finished playing) as this course is a beauty too, especially with the great panorama that blends in very well with the landscape. With undulated fairways and mostly downhill greens, this par-72 course plays very well and is a delight to watch. As for the birdsongs, some like them, other don't... but I think it brings a little more countryside atmosphere ! On the front 9, I like the par-4 1st hole, with its nice view and the par-4 3rd, with the villas to the right of the fairway. The par-4 7th with all these bushes in the middle of the fairway is nice too. On the par-3 9th hole, the countryside is beautiful (love those hedges !) as you reach the small green (but still bigger than the par-3 11th hole). The par-4 13th has some nice brick houses on the left side and more "modern" villas near the green. The green of the par-4 15th hole is reachable with a 3-wood, provided that you hold your power off a little bit but the green has a little slope to test your putting skills. I also like the view from the par-4 16th and the par-3 18th is not a gimme with that small lake in front of the green. Jimbo63 came up with another very nice course that should make you keep playing courses from England and from... him too !

Thanks for leaving a comment. I designed this one just because it is a normal everyday golf club, which happens to be situated fairly close to where I live.

More than 4 years since this course had a comment & 2 years since I downloaded it, so I haven't helped! We get spoilt here with wonderful new uploads, so these "back catalogue" titles fall into the "out of sight, out of mind" category.
Most recent uploads are tournament designs, so there are hazards to be negotiated from almost every tee & what struck me playing this course just now was the open fairways. No obstacles until the 7th, where a patch of rough bisects the fairway around driving distance & there aren't many more in later holes.
That's no reflection on Jimbo, just the way the course is & he's done a great job with it, as always. I have all your 08 courses Jimbo but still have a few to play - please rest assured they're not all out of mind... :)

Thanks Mr.Jimbo for your answer and I recognized your option, but as I don't want to lose the clubsound, this is not the right one. I think I remember the reply of another course designer, who gave instructions how to mutate the sound file in the program, and that is what I meant.

Tripel43 Glad you enjoyed the course and sorry that you did not like the sound of my pet canaries . . . LOL. In the game go to Options, Sounds, Ambient sounds and you can move the slider left to reduce or eliminate all the ambient sounds including the birds. You will lose the club sounds but keep the commentary.

A very nice course, made with very detailed panorama's, seen through the eyes of the master himself. Rating somewhere between 4 and 5 stars. The only thing I didn't like, where the continuous bird sounds, that follow you many holes. I got my rifle out of the closet, shot a few times in the direction I expected the birds to be, but I failed (militairy service is almost 50 years ago). Question to Mr.Jimbo: can I put off the birds sounds but keeping all the others?

Looks good. Plays smooth. Some Tee's not flat. Greens are extremely slopey and too oo many unplayable pins on VD.
Still not sure why so many really nice courses have unplayable pins and get deleted after playing once.

A Classic Jimbo design...Very nice course with mild undulations and testing greens. The pano flows perfectly into the design!Excellent planting and structure use!At times I didn't know if the structures were part of the pano or from a library. Thanks for this great design Jimbo...Very well done!

Nicely done. Nothing fancy, just a wonderfuly playable course that demands your undevided attention on every shot. The greens are especially 'tricky' with lots of little nuiances to keep you on point.
