One of my favorites, thanks JJ. Really impressed with the greens, they seem to roll so true, at various speeds. Scenic, trouble abounds but always a place you can hit more or less safely, even if leaving a longer shot to the green. Appreciate your talent, thanks for the course.

A great course where accuracy is the name of the game, for fear of landing in the marshlands, high rough or waste bunkers, present everywhere. Strangely enough, the ponds and lakes on my PC look really good (i.e. = blue !) but, this time, it is the sea that looks so-so (too dark...), especially considering that some other courses have great sea colors (then again, this course was released in 2011 and textures have improved since...). "Sea aside", this par 72 plays very smoothly and has some tough holes to deal with, starting with the dogleg to the left par-5 2nd hole, with plenty of marshland around, or the par-4 3rd, again a dogleg to the left. The par-3 5th hole is nice too, especially the overview as you reach the green, but my favorite hole, besides the 2nd, is the scenic dogleg to the left par-4 9th, quite colorful. The dogleg to the right par-4 10th hole is very pretty around the green, whereas the par-4 12th has water on both sides : a lake on a left, a river on the right. The par-4 13th hole will give you some sweaty palms as the flag is very close to the water, just like the par-5 16th hole, with its big lake in front of the tee box. As for the final par-4 18th hole, the view of the clubhouse is quite pretty. Well designed by JJhold, the Kiawah Island course is a definite keeper and a very nice way to escape next to the South Carolina seashore !

Definitely agree with davy1960hill re rollback & pins on the stock course. This layout is much flatter & without those "bumps" in front, it's now possible to pitch on. A lot less bushy trees, too - standing on the 14th tee was a shock, being able to see the green! Loved the 360 vistas in ballcam view, much more picturesque than the stock too. Great work, jj - I'm off to give Neil's Riviera a go, while I'm in remake mode...

very nice job on this redesign jj a definite improvement over the stock design and then som keep up the great work and thank you for all you do for the players of this great game , if ea had designers like yourself and neal and some of the others here on this sight they would have had a much better program than they had all those years that they were up . please keep up the great work and thank you for making these courses available to us .

Great job Jamie. Looks and plays great. Great use and blending of all the weed textures. Be carefull when smoothing around raised greens. I noticed alot of turtlebacks.

Very nice work indeed Jamie. Sure does leave the stock version behind (the stock did have bad roll-backs and some ridiculous pins). Good to see you improving in leaps and bounds, this is a very nice course, well done.

Excellent work here, Jamie. Great looking, fine attention to detail, no bad rollbacks on VDry that I found. On gusty I found it ever so slightly choppy, but I think that is because of all the long grass textures, and they are essential to the look and feel. That didn't affect play for me though. All-in-all, one of your best to date - keep on truckin'

Tripel, you get that view when you are seeing past the edge of the plot that is used to make the course. This course is very long and narrow, and JJ would have had to squeeze it in to the available space.

Mr.J.J.Hold must be a superman, able to publish 2 courses in 2 days (Plainfield=very well done and now Kiawah Island=more than very well done). Only remark and question at the same time: why do you sometimes get a strang slanting view at the horizon when you ball is high in the air?

Another stock course bites the dust, big time in this case as Kiawah is definitely on of the best stocks and this just eclipses it. Superb rendition and many thanks for the kind comment.
