Another masterpiece from Neil Munro, with a beautiful hilly panorama, nice plantings and plenty of elevation changes, with some spectacular holes, especially on the back 9. This par 72 is a pure delight to watch and play : not only the course looks so natural, but it plays so smoothly that you wish time could stop, so you could enjoy every hole a little longer... On the front 9, I like the right dogleg par-5 1st hole, with its undulated fairway downhill all the way to the green, the par-4 3rd, with a small lake below and the fairway on the other side of the hill, and the par-5 6th hole, with its rollercoaster fairway and a green, slightly to the left. Both par-4 7th and 8th holes are not overly difficult, but they have downhill tee shots and uphill approach shots to the greens. Similarly, the downhill, but straight, par-3 9th hole is "easy", but it has a gorgeous panoramic view of the hilly countryside. The back 9 starts with a "bang" with the right dogleg par-4 10th hole, with two uphill shots, the second one being quite steep to the green, and is followed by the beautiful downhill par-3 11th, with a small lake below and a nice panoramic view from the tee box. The downhill par-4 13th hole is not only very scenic, but also quite risky : with a tiny fairway between two small lakes midway and a green, only about 310 yards away, you might want to gamble to have a chance at an eagle opportunity, but, if you do, you will sweat a little bit along the (long) way... If the 13th hole is very nice, and one of my favorite holes, the par-4 14th is simply gorgeous with a pond not far from the green in the middle of the narrow fairway and a little creek on the right side, trickling down from the cascade behind the green on the right (with the sound of the water flowing as a bonus !). Then, after the slightly uphill par-3 15th hole, you will reach another beautiful hole, the right dogleg par-5 16th, with its fairway between small hills, bunkers on the left side, and with a small pond on the right side of the green, nestled at the foot of a small hill. Finally, the left dogleg par-5 18th hole, with its rollercaster fairway and blind tee shot over trees to reach the downhill green (and its beautiful clubhouse), will convince you that this course, well designed by Neil Munro, deserves to be ranked as a top notch, and a keeper for years to come !

Brilliant course, so much to enjoy and a really good challenge. The vista and setting are amazing - I just wanted to set-up camp and stay a while - and the layout is so natural and well-planned. The par 3 4th is superb, simple yet stunning - probably my fave fave, amongst many. Outstanding design and worthy of all the praise, cheers!

I'm in complete agreement with the first line of tripel43's comment - my addition is that a landscape photographer would be proud to have captured some of these images. Truly a work of art & well deserving of 5*.
This is the first course of Neil's I've tried, still being new to the site, but it certainly won't be the last! I chose it after reading some forum entries from other designers about how good the course is & you can't get better recommendations than that...

Remarkable, it's sure a keeper, looks very pleasant and it's a lot of fun to play. And normally I don't really believe in intelligent design, but there's evidence of it on this golf course! Notify the press. No seriously, you know when sometimes you'll be playing a course and you can't really tell exactly which hole is which, it all just blends together? Or there's one or two great holes, but then the other ones feel like filler. Well here it's very different, there are a number of amazing standouts, but even so not one other hole disappoints in any way, a result of many, many hours work no doubt. Not much more to say other than congratulations, the best I've seen so far.

Playing this course, kept me looking around in admiration. Next morning at seven I was still sitting in front of my PC. My wife woke up and asked me:"where have you been all night?!" and I simple answered:"here, admiring Neil Munro's latest masterpiece!"

Great work Neil - A stunning course and my new favourite, a keeper for sure.
Just the best course design and layout I've played on TW '08 - Real or Fantasy and If this virtual course was built for real, I for one would love to have a shot at it.
Perhaps there's a job for you at EA Sports :-)

Absolutely brilliant course. Some of the best elevation work I've seen to date. Fantastic views from the tee's. I love the par 4, 14th hole, it's a classic. You'll want to play this one over and over again. Thanks Neil, 5 stars.

Superb. Really tough, but in no way unfair. Excellent elevation work. Some of the layouts are simply genius, combining an obvious deep knowledge of the game of golf and also the parameters of this particular game, making it not just a challenge in the game but also the course represents itself as a challenging visual golf sim. I literaly stood on some of those tees and was daunted by what I saw. Also love the tartan flags :) Thanks for a great course, Neil.
