After reading the designer’s comments, I hesitated playing this course, not knowing what to expect in terms of his “sadistic twist”. Well, as it turned out, after the straight par-4 1st hole, with deep rough splitting two parallel fairways (with the one on the right, hidden in front by trees), I got my hands full, starting with the very long (more than 630 yards) and straight par-5 2nd, with a second shot flying over deep rough in the direction of the green, reachable with a little bit of luck and a... lot of tailwind ! If the sharp dogleg left par-4 3rd hole is “reasonable”, with a tee shot landing short of an elongated lake and an approach over part of it toward the sloped green (partially hidden by trees), the dogleg left par-4 4th is tougher, with a tee shot flying above trees and a second shot over deep rough to get to the green, just like the par-3 5th, with a narrow gap between trees to reach the green. The other par-5 hole (slightly-uphill dogleg left 6th) is even longer with deep rough, splitting the fairway twice before you can get to the green (set next to a small lake, below, on the left), and is followed by the straight and downhill par-3 7th, with a tee shot flying above a wide lake in the direction of the flag, surrounded by trees. Two par-4 holes follow : on the 8th, a few trees are on both sides of a narrow fairway, midway (set next to an elongated lake, on the right), leaving you with an uphill approach with plenty of deep rough in front of the green, and on the 9th, you will need to hit a blind and uphill second shot over water, two-thirds of the way branching out from an elongated lake (on the right), to reach the green. The back 9 starts with another very long par-5 hole (almost 680 yards (!), along a lake (on the left), with a slightly-uphill second shot and a slightly-downhill approach to the green, and continues with three par-4 holes (11th, 12th and 13th), with greens often hidden by trees and hard to reach, just like on the par-3 14th, with its elevated green and its flag, again real close to the fringe. As if woofer's sadistic touch was not enough, the dogleg left par-5 15th hole should definitely convince you, as it is 726 yards long (!) with, needless to say, no eagle opportunity but, fortunately, you might be able to get a couple of birdies on the straight par-4 16th, despite its narrow tree-lined slanted fairway and blind second shot toward the green, the long par-3 17th, with a blind tee shot toward an elevated green, hidden by trees, and the par-4 18th. If, indeed, this par 72 has plenty of undulated fairways and a few water hazards, getting to the greens is very difficult, especially with trees often hiding them, not to mention putting with its flags, set near the fringes most of the time ! And with very long par-5 holes to top it all, don't be surprised if your score does not fall like... the Niagara Falls, unless you decide to put the blame on that bikini clad lady (shown on the logo), responsible for your loss of concentration !
