An interesting course, with some elevated terrain, at times, and plenty of water hazards (especially on the back 9), along with some very nice plantings and some "unusual-looking" houses...
This par 72 starts with the right dogleg par-4 1st hole, with a slightly-downhill tee shot, an undulating tree-lined fairway and an uphill approach to the elevated green, and is followed by the scenic par-3 2nd, with a hollow wasteland filled with deep rough and gorse bushes (between the tee box and the green), with some... colorful houses behind and along the fairway on the right.
On the left dogleg par-5 3rd hole, you will have to be careful with your tee shot to avoid the water across the fairway midway, which is part of the elongated lake down a small gorge on the right, before aiming your following shot toward the elevated green, whereas on the par-3 4th, quite pretty, you will need to hit a blind tee shot over the meandering lake to reach the green on the other side of the hill.
An unusual sight awaits you on the dogleg par-4 6th hole, with an elongated lake on the right and some strange-looking houses on the hilltop (with a... blue roof for one, and a yellow house with a green roof on another !), and a green, sharply to the right, with a big bunker across in front.
Thankfully, the par-4 8th hole looks very nice and… natural, being downhill all the way with a narrow tree-lined fairway, halfway, and beautiful red and yellow bushes on a mound behind the green.
You will finish the front 9 with the long (more than 610 yards) right dogleg par-5, uphill all the way and with a blind second shot, and a short 3rd approach to the green, with a nice parking lot behind, on the right.
Coming back, I like the wide open left dogleg par-4 10th hole, downhill all the way with a slanted fairway and a big bunker in the corner, and the nice par-3 11th, with an elevated green and a small pond below, on the left, surrounded by a huge bunker.
Then, after the left dogleg par-4 12th hole, downhill all the way with a slanted fairway and trees in the corner, you will reach a very pretty and challenging four-hole stretch : the par-5 14th hole is a dogleg, with an elongated lake on the left (and a nice red wood railing on the bridge), and a very long approach shot to the green (if you are in a gambling mood !) over a few trees along the lake (with colorful bushes all around), and the par-3 15th is a peninsula green, with water almost all around and that nice bridge on the left.
The dogleg par-4 16th hole is gorgeous and quite short (about 340 yards), bending sharply around a lake on the right (with trees and colorful bushes around the edge), and needs a blind shot to reach the slightly-elevated green, just like the par-4 17th, with a downhill tee shot over a u-shaped elongated lake, with a little bridge to get to the fairway, and an uphill second shot to the elevated green.
And you will have one last chance for an eagle or birdie opportunity on the left dogleg par-5 18th hole, with a lake on the left and a long approach shot to the green.
while this Cotswold course, designed by ZB, plays very smoothly, and has some challenging holes, it needs a little updating to correct a few angular paths and change those odd-shaped and strange colored houses to give it a better ranking...

P.S. If you play with TW07, you will need to turn the water option "off" to make it look nicer (as it appears grainy with the default value).

Pebble Beach hole nine was originally only 460 odd yards until they extended for the now power game. I will have no doubt without checking the original designs you mentioned were not as long but adjusted as above.
You have missed the point, golf is a game of postion and angles not just crunching off the tee (which not every great player has had that power to do so, many major winnwers were only mid range in distance but very good in position) and hope for the best.
Look forward to your next design with much interest.

In response to Jackn: At the end of the day, The Cotswold is a fantasy course and as such, hole lengths can be anything the designer wants to make them, whether experienced or not.

However, just to set the record straight for you, so that you don't go complaining to the likes of designers such as; Palmer, Dye, Trent-Jones, Nicklaus, Faldo, Dye, Els to name but a few....any experienced real golf player, will know what you have written is a load of tosh! LOL Just look at Silver rock resort, 12th hole par 5 = 658 yrds, 15th is par 4 at 525 yrds - Designer was Arnold Palmer. Kapalua Plantation - 3 holes over 500yds and all par 4 plus one hole at 663yrds as a par 5, designed by Coore and Crenshaw. The 9th at Pebble Beach is 505 yrds par 4. Hazeltine (as used in 2009 for US Open - 518-yard par-4 12th, the 248-yard par-3 13th and the 642-yard par-5 15th. Need I go on?

Plays well. PFr too long. Par fives should not be over 600 yards long and par fours should not be over 500 yards. The challenge is not length but position. An experienced designer should know that.

Thanks everyone, for the kind comments and feedback. This was a Xmas break project whilst I took my annual design break from PGAX and as I enjoyed designing it, I thought I would release it.

Whilst this is the only course released under my "ZB" name, I have in fact, designed and/or been involved in, the design of over 50 courses for TW08, however these have been for PGAX. The TW08 courses which have been released here at CS under the PGAX Design Team name and where I was lead architect include; Silver Rock, TPC Louisiana (08 and 09) Mayakoba (El Camaleon) Poppy Hills 09, PGAX Ryder Cup 2010 at Celtic Manor, PGAX Troon North, Presidents Cup - Royale Montreal (in collaboration with McBruce) The Classic Club, The Grayhawk Golf Club - Raptor and TPC Deere Run. I also helped in the research and test most original PGAX courses during 2008/9 including, for Augusta National by PGAX for our 08 version called The Masters. In addition to those courses released here at CS, we have continued to update all our PGAX designs for not just 2010 but also for this new Year and we have taken on a full schedule of the European PGA Tour courses. (Available only at PGAX)

Except for a strange looking yellow building (and maybe some others that surround it), I liked this course very much! (at least 4 stars).
Pity that the designer creates only a few courses (this seems to be the only TW08 course by ZB).
I keep recommended...

Liked this course. Good variety of hole layouts. Nice spacious ambience. Good course colouring, especially the red railings to the bridge which made a good focal point. Buildings were very good except for a couple of buildings around about holes seven or eight which could have been intergrated better. Hole eighteen is a challenge for me as my drive from the green always seems to end up behind the same strategically placed tree.

This is a fun course. It is well made. As the author suggests it has some tight holes and some more open. Not just the feeling of playing the same hole over and over again. It played smoothly on my system. Good attention to detail. It has a "real" look to it. It is the kind of course you could play the best round of your life on one day, and the worst the next. Great job!
