With its small mountains and lakes as a backdrop, tall and thin trees spread along the course and some creeks and other small lakes... bluer than the sky, this par 70 is beautiful to look at (even though there are no flowers and bushes !), but not overly difficult. After the straight par-4 1st hole, and its beautiful panoramic view from the tee, with a big lake on the right, and the right dogleg par-5 2nd, with an undulating fairway and a small lake, way to the right, you will reach the par-3 3rd hole, with a big bunker all the way in front of the green, and a smaller one to the left. If the par-4 5th hole is worth mentioning with its twisting fairway and a small lake to the left of the green, my favorite holes are a little bit further : on the right dogleg par-4 7th, your tee shot will fly over the meandering lake twice, whereas on the right dogleg par-5 8th hole, you will have to hit a long approach shot to the green, with a small creek in front. I also like the straight par-3 9th hole, with an enormous bunker across (and in front of) the green and its nice panoramic view with an elongated lake, further behind to the right, and the mountains far away. On the back 9, after a good eagle opportunity on the short right dogleg par-5 10th hole, you will hit your tee shot over a creek (which ends behind the left side of the green) on the straight par-3 11th, before heading for the short (about 360 yards) and sharp left dogleg par-4 13th hole, with big elongated bunkers (and cute small steps in them !) on both sides of the green. Then, after the straight par-4 14th hole, with the lake parallel to the fairway on the left (and ending past the green), and the right dogleg par-4 15th, you will face two straight holes, the nice par-4 16th, with an undulating and slanted fairway and an approach shot to the green over a small lake, and the par-3 17th hole, with a tee shot over a hollow wasteland, filled with deep rough. Last but not least, the right dogleg par-4 18th hole is very pretty with the lake on the right side of the fairway, and in front of the green, and two nice houses behind it. Overall, despite plenty of deep rough on the sides of the fairways and some well-placed bunkers, you should score well on this course, one of ron717's best, and fully enjoy your round, as long as you don't leave it to Beaver !

Brilliant design, the usual high quality from Ron but here with a superb, original layout. A consistent challenge throughout, but beatable with good golf, the course has a peaceful and sweet-looking setting and it plays smooth as can be. Many good holes, I particularly liked the intimidating par 4 7th and the wicked dogleg par 4 13th (I think those numbers are correct). Just awesome work, loved it all the way, cheers!

When you are on the first Teee on any of rons courses they always SHOUT at you to play well, for all 3 courses here they are once again top drawer....unfortunately for me I did not play too good on any of them! greens are challenging but playable Rons subtle blend of difficulty and reality.

How did you put out three such great courses in short a time? I can almost smell the pines and the mountain air.
