Another pretty course from ron717, with small mountains as a backdrop and with plenty of narrow fairways, a few water hazards and strategically-placed bunkers, making this par 72 quite enjoyable. After the par-4 opening hole, slightly-uphill, with a tee shot over a small lake right in front, a winding fairway and a narrow green (framed by 2 bunkers), I like the right dogleg par-4 2nd, with a blind and downhill tee shot, and the nice par-5 4th, slightly-uphill again, with a meandering creek running all along on the left of the undulating fairway and past the green. Then, after the par-4 5th hole, with that creek again flowing all along on the left of the sloped fairway and a slightly-elevated green, my favorite holes are the par-3 6th, with a tee shot over a big pond, filled with plenty of grass in between (looking more like a swamp) and a slanted green, and the very pretty left dogleg par-4 7th hole, with a blind tee shot landing near a creek flowing sharply to the left, midway, and with a small lake further to the right (with small wooden houses on the edge) and a small green. The left dogleg par-5 9th hole is nice too, with an elongated lake on the left of a sloped fairway, ending midway, and a four-leaf clover-shaped bunker right in front of the slightly-elevated green. On your way back, after getting an eagle opportunity on the short (around 320 yards) par-4 12th hole, whose green is reachable from the tee box despite a small bunker and a little mound in front and to the left, you will face a few nice holes too. The right dogleg par-5 14th is pretty, with its fairway hugging a winding river on the left, and a blind (and tough) approach to the small undulating (and slanted) green, with a big bunker on the right and water on the left. Finally, after two more slightly-uphill holes (par-4 15th and 16th), you will head for the par-5 17th, with a long second shot toward the small and undulating green, guarded by two bunkers on the sides, before walking to the nice rice right dogleg par-4 18th hole, slightly-uphill and with a serpentine creek flowing along on the right side, then really close to the green. Overall, this Pintail Golf Club course is well-designed and will make you think twice before hitting your shots (especially on your way to the greens) but, if you are patient enough, you should end up with a nice score while enjoying the views...

Wonderful design, love the scenery in this one - great 'location' - and the layout is varied and testing. It is a tough one, to be sure.. probably harder than Ron's 'usual', and it makes for lots of head-scratching fun. Really excellent job, plays smooth and looks so sweet, cheers!

Another very good course Ron. Acres of long grass texture but I did not experience any lag. Judicious use of birdsong. Good layout. All round successful effort.
