A superb course all the way around, albeit not very difficult, but quite a treat visually with a very hilly and green countryside and that big Devil’s Tower, a lot of slanted fairways and some blind shots with (sometimes) a few well-placed (or lone) bunkers in front of the greens. In fact, you will probably spend more time gazing at the gorgeous scenery than playing the course itself ! After the first two downhill par-4 dogleg holes, slightly to the left, then to the right (2nd hole, nicer with its beautiful approach to the green), and the par-3 3rd, with a tee shot over a small pond near the green, you will need to hit a downhill tee shot followed by an steeply-uphill approach to reach the green of the right dogleg par-4 4th hole. After the par-4 5th hole, with a couple of bunkers in the middle of the slanted fairway, you will head right back the other way on the above right dogleg par-4 6th, before hitting a blind tee shot, slightly-uphill, then a downhill second shot to the green. On the par-3 7th hole, you will have a nice overview of the valley as you reach the green, before heading to one of my favorite holes, the short risk/reward, and gorgeous par-4 8th, with a blind and downhill tee shot over some high rough (and a small hill on the left), and a big pond on the left of the green, with some nice villas below and the hills further back. You will finish the front 9 with the very short right dogleg par-5 9th hole where, after hitting another blind and downhill tee shot over some trees in the corner, you should have an... eagle opportunity after landing your second shot onto the green, guarded by a lone bunker in front. Another short but tricky hole awaits you on the left dogleg par-4 10th, with a tee shot over some thin trees toward the green, guarded by another small bunker, but where you should be able to get a welcome birdie. After a blind and downhill tee shot on the right dogleg par-4 11th hole, you will be able to admire the Devil’s tower behind the green, just like on the par-3 12th, simply superb with a downhill tee shot over the road crossing the fairway halfway, and a panoramic view of the valley as you reach the green (with the Devil’s Tower further to the right). The par-4 13th hole is uphill all the way, with villas on a hilltop on the right, and is followed by the straight par-5 14th hole (parallel and below the 5th), downhill all the way, with three small bunkers across the fairway, midway, and three more guarding the green in front. Then, after the left dogleg par-4 15th hole, you will move on to the right dogleg par-4 16th, very nice with a blind and downhill tee shot over some trees and high rough, landing near some more trees in the corner (with another panoramic view of the valley), before heading for the par-3 17th hole and its little mound on the left, next to the flag. Finally, after a straight downhill tee shot on the par-4 18th hole, you will then reach the green in time to admire its magnificent half-timbered clubhouse behind... With this Eagle's View Golf Club @ Devil's Tower, Jimbo63 designed another beauty, with a spectacular view of the valley that will take your breath away !
