Living in Holland, about 25 kms from the real Zaanse Schans -a place where tourists from all over the world come to, to see a collection of real Dutch windmills- I was anxious to see what the designer (not a Dutchman I suppose) had created. I started the course and the first thing I saw were mountains. I can asure you that we have many things here in Holland, but NO MOUNTAINS! I hit a ball from the tee and what I saw there, was not very real looking too. So in my opinion, this course is not worth playing. Maybe my compatriot, and well know TW course designer, Martijn Hover can give some advice. Sorry!

Actually joe I didn't realise the kid was on your pay roll, considering he is new to course designing constructive criticisum is always appreciated but insults do more harm than good. Its great to see a young course designer evolve, and personely I think he did a fine job and look forward to his future courses. Maybe you need to improve your golfing skills and not blame the designers.

I found the course a bit boring. I quit after the 8th hole. The fairways are straight and not very wide. Be like a single lane airport runway. There are trees along side the fairways. Each hole was like this, no turns. I only played to the 8th hole so maybe the other holes were more exciting.

Well Sirkirb, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I rated this course from a golf stand point. I also did not say it was easy. I said it was very hard to land the ball in the fairway even in still conditions. That in my opinion makes it goofy. A golfer should not be penalized for hitting a ball down the middle of the fairway period. On this course, you can land the ball in the middle and roll off into the rough on every drive. It was rare that any of my group hit a fairway durring the entire 18 holes. Granted, if it's the second try at course building, he did a fine job. But we don't rate courses based on your experiance in building do we?

joe dunno what you are talking about, played this course on calm winds and dry greens (and unless you are a 2 clicker) this is not such an easy course. The narrow tree lined fairways were a definate challenge and the added hump and bumps in your intended landing area added a think to your next shot challenge that are rarely looked at. The only negative that I can see is that the greens are unfortunately flay from any distance and direction that you hit them from... you give it a 1 I give it a solid 3+ for a 2nd course attempt.

Thumbs down on this one folks. Goofy layout. Poor graphics. Very hard to keep the ball in the fairway even with still winds. I gave it a solid 1 rating, and that was pushing it.
