This par 70 has a heavily-wooded panorama with plenty of tree-lined fairways, mostly straight and narrow on the front 9, but a little bit wider coming back, with some doglegs and water hazards, without any flowers and/or bushes to worry about (or look at !). On the front 9, I like the straight par-5 2nd hole, with a downhill tee shot over a river across midway through, the par-4 3rd, with an approach shot over the meandering river to reach the green, slightly to the right, and the straight par-4 6th hole, with its very narrow tree-lined fairway. The par-3 7th hole, with its tee shot over a wide lake and a small green, surrounded by three bunkers is quite challenging, just like the dogleg par-4 8th, with another approach shot over the river in front of the green, located on the left. The back 9 is tougher, with my favorite hole being the beautiful straight par-4 11th, with a river on the right, cutting across midway through and then back to the right, in front of the small green, which means hitting shots over the water twice ! On the par-3 12th hole, you will need to hit a downhill tee shot over the river to reach the tiny green, with three bunkers surrounding it, whereas on the par-5 15th, slightly to the right, you will face an enormous wide bunker across midway through, and another small one in the middle, a little bit further. Then, after the par-4 16th hole, with a nice residential area (partially hidden) on the left side of the fairway, and the par-3 17th, with a tee shot over a small lake, you will finish your round with the nice dogleg par-4 18th hole, with a lake on the left side of the green and nice houses behind it. While Madison Country Club plays very smoothly, and is well designed, thanks to hockeyfreak, it lacks a little bit of excitement, visually and playing-wise, despite some tough par-3 holes and a few more with water hazards...

Outstanding job on this one hockey. Your best so far, hands down. Very realistic in looks and play. It's a course that beginners can play, yet it will challenge the veterans too. Watch out for the Par 3's, they are tough.
