If you suffer from back pain, don't play this course (LOL) ! With its rollercoaster fairways, donwhill and/or slanted slopes and a few tricky greens, this par 71 can give you a hard time, especially on the front 9. On the front 9, I like the downhill par-4 2nd hole, with its tough pin placement and narrow green, the slightly uphill left dogleg par-5 4th, and its rollercoaster fairway, and the vertiginous par-3 5th hole where your tee shot will fly over to the other side of the hill to (hopefully) reach the green. The next few holes are beautiful and all downhill : the left dogleg (and quite steep) par-4 6th has a little creek on the right side and bunkers on the left, the par-4 7th has big bunkers on the left side too and, on the par-5 8th hole, you will hit your tee shot over a small valley before trying to reach the downhill green with a... blind shot. The par-4 9th hole is quite nice too, albeit very different, with a lake on the left side and a tiny green to work with. The back 9 is less scenic and challenging, but a few holes are worth mentioning : the par-3 11th hole is beautiful with its serpentine creek and tiny green, the left dogleg par-5 has a tough approach shot, and the par-4 17th is pretty steep going downhill with, again, a nice serpentine creek to keep you in check. With its small mountains as a backdrop, and its distintive front and back 9, this course is fun to play and to... keep, thanks to Danut Golf's designing talent !

Very good design and an enjoyable course. A nice degree of difficulty too - not overly tough but a fair challenge throughout and any birdies have to be earned. Played well and it looked great, I really enjoyed it, cheers!

I loved the textures used for the different cuts of rough on this course. Very appealing and got caught in it a few times. Very well done.

ScottyG - not meaning to offend, but this is a real course. Parts of the course are actually "barren" while others have trees in the distance or along the fairways. There are very few areas where the trees actually come into play, though. Actually, Pumpkin Ridge consists of two courses that intertwine, and instead of leaving the other course areas bare, I did add trees there, so I cheated a little. If I would have added more trees, it would have changed the look and I would have had to classify it as a fantasy course. Be assured I did not leave trees out to enhance frame rates. I actually planted almost 9,000 trees on this course. Just for reference, most fictional courses I make usually have less than that.
Thanks for the comments.

Course really has potential, i like the layout & design (especially the two toned grass, nice touch) "but" the only thing i did not like about it, was i feel if there could of been more plantings, trees, shrubs, etc it would of definately looked better. Now from reading some of the other posts, could this of been purposely left out due to frame rates & performance issues, possibly as i could understand that. But even my 2 other friends that i played this course with said right away upon teeing off the first few holes, "that it was kinda barren". Otherwise a nice design.

Please forgive me, Phil. Without PhilT's help, this course would have been tougher on the frame rates. He helped me test the grass settings. Thanks very much, Phil!

A really nice rendition of this course. I really like the redish deep rough texture. It's nice how you made it so at a distance, it blends with the medium rough. It really is a peach. Thanks

I would like to thank the following for their valuable help in the testing of this course - Otto Kriete, Rick Hodgson, Boze and James Brown. Thanks very much to all of you.
Tho those playing the course - I tried to make the library so that it would show the grass well without causing lag. I think I accomplished that to a certain extent. However, I think even those with older systems will still get good frame rates by lowering the settings from very high to high.
Thank to all in advance.
