Another one of my favorites from Jimbo63, elevation not to be believed, and I've proven you can play it even par without hitting one fairway...but it ain't easy! Greens putt nice, fairways seem to slope towards the rough - or maybe that's just me - and all together a fine test of golf. Thanks, Jimbo63, appreciate your work.

I am "glad" that Jimbo63 was not sure about the elevations on the real course in Malaga because if this version is real close to it, then you will definitely have aches and pain at the end of your day ! With plenty of elevation, sometimes quite steep, slanted and/or sloped fairways, blind tee shots, and some well-placed bunkers, this par 72 is unlike many courses and is quite challenging. For once, the par-4 1st hole is not representative on what you will face on this course as it is "almost" flat, compared to most of the other holes. The par-3 2nd, for example, has a blind tee shot, a slanted fairway and bunkers around the downhill green, whereas the dogleg par-5 3rd hole, one of my favorites, requires a steep uphill blind tee shot to reach the downhill slope, before aiming for the green with a lake on the left side to watch for. Another blind tee shot is needed on the par-4 4th hole to fly over the lake and (hopefully) reach the downhill green but, as Jimbo63 said, this short hole (only 253-yard long) should have been a par-3... After the nice par-5 5th hole and its two uphill shots, another blind tee shot awaits you on the par-3 6th to reach the green below the sloped fairway, before facing two of my other favorite holes on the front 9. The right dogleg par-5 8th hole, with its nice panoramic view from the tee box, a big patch of high grass in the middle of the fairway and a slightly elevated green, is very scenic and quite "flat", compared to the left dogleg par-4 9th, with its very steep uphill tee shot, heavily-slanted fairway and downhill green... The back 9 is no pushover either, with the very tough left dogleg par-5 11th hole with, again, a steep uphill tee shot, a twisted fairway with a steep downhill slope and trees in the way hiding the view of the fairway and the green, making it almost impossible to get an eagle. If you still have enough strength, you might want to try to reach the green of the par-4 14th hole (about 290 yard-long) but, with its steep uphill tee shot and bunkers in front of the green, good luck ! The following hole is the most spectacular on the whole course : with its vertiginous drop, the left dogleg par-4 15th hole has a gorgeous panoramic view, a slanted fairway, and a little creek on the left side with 5 bunkers nearby, and another 4 bunkers guarding the green : simply awesome... After "surviving" this hole, the downhill right dogleg par-4 16th, and the par-3 17th, with its elevated green, will seem "easy"... As for the left dogleg par-5 18th hole, quite scenic with houses and a sports complex overlooking the green, it has a downhill slope, a slanted fairway, and is quite short giving you one last chance to putt for an eagle and/or birdie. Finca Cortesin has definitely a look of its own and, whether or not the elevation reflects the reality does not matter, as Jimbo63 did a great job with this course and should be thanked for all his time and efforts...

Fascinating course and excellent design. Not too many like this going around.. The elevation changes are amazing at times and there's seldom a flat surface to be found. As difficult as it appears - and it is - you *can* score well (depending on conditions) so long as you avoid that rough. That's a no-brainer with all courses but especially so with this one - and very hard to do! A real challenge. The scenery is stunning, the course is wild and entertaining, and the design is superb - much enjoyed, cheers!

When I looked at the course name, I thought it had to be an anagram from another course, as in Neil's Cote Sunari. But Jimbo says it's based on a real course, so no need to try & work it out. Great job with the elevation changes, especially where you're hitting over high hills from the tee - also some tricky downhill approaches to a few greens, as the greens also slope away. Thanks again for all your consistent design work...

Nice work on this one. i really dig the elevation changes...any course that has 35 -50 yard drops is gonna be fun to play...tough plot and you did a great job cuttin the course into those slopes.
Nice touch on the driving range and plantings behind the clubhouse...thanks for this

Putt. Glad you enjoyed the course. Good comment re the 4th hole, I made an error on this hole. I have just checked the yardages of the real course, which I based this course on, it is a par 4 but the distance is forty yards longer from the back tee (305 yards), which obviously makes it more of a risk to drive over the lake.

Another enjoyable course Jimbo and you are certainly improving with every course you make. The fourth hole was a par four.,it would have been better as a par three. My favorite hole was the ninth with its rolling, twisting fairway. Anyway it was all excellent work and more power to your elbow.

J, all of your courses are fun to play. This course has the look and feel of an experienced confident designer. It is one of your best real or fantasy period. I hope all the "download real courses only" players get to enjoy it. Thanks!
