Wow, willie surprised me again (and I am not the only one apparently) with a very "unusual" golf course... to say the least ! I thought I had seen everything, but I did not expect to see railroads tracks across the first fairway with wagons... and a train whistle as a bonus ! Thank God, the train was not moving but, at the same time, I could not stop thinking about some players being bothered by birdsongs... so, I can't imagine how they would feel here ! Once you get over the "shock", this par-71 is fun to play, with well done plantings, lovely trees and a few elevated fairways and greens, surrounded by a nice panorama. Besides the 1st hole, I like the short dogleg to the left par-5 6th, the uphill green of the par-4 8th, and the par-4 9th, where you get to see your "friendly" wagons again ! A special mention also for the par-3 3rd and 13th holes, which are very short : around 100 yards, give or take a few yards ! (By the way, there are distributing machines behind the tee of the 13th hole and on the green of the much longer par-3 16th, this time with two lamp posts next to it : why just on this hole ?). On the back 9, I like the par-4 10th hole with its uphill tee shot, the dogleg to the left par-4 11th and the par-5 12th, where partially hidden houses are very close to the fairway. My favorite holes are the par-4 15th hole, with that small house facing the lake near the green, and the par-5 18th where you will need to hit your approach shot over... railroads tracks, wagons, a small pond and... bunkers ! This "everything-but-the-kitchen-sink" approach might not please everyone, but if you want a very original experience while playing on a golf course, this might be the one to try. As for me, I loved it and will definitely keep this course, even though I did not "hear the whistle blow a hundred miles" like the Foggy Mountain Boys...

Just played a round on this course. Enjoyed greatly. Great structure work. Have played several of your other courses and enjoyed them also. Keep up the good work Willie.

Hi Willy,
Not first class but enjoyable anyway and I appreciate that you keep producing despite some negative comments and unfair rating.
Thanks for sharing, as I always enjoy your courses.
Cheers Brian

The train whistle on the first hole really got my attention. Not sure why a passenger car was hooked to freight cars but what the heck. Course played smoothly. The 18th hole was the biggest suprise with both a train crossing and water hazzard. I found that I enjoyed my round because it was different. Nice job willie.
