With high and green volcanic mountains and a few cascades as a panorama and a nice coastline (but with an ocean looking strange, at times), this par 71 is quite pleasant to play with plenty of rollercoaster fairways, doglegs, a few sloped greens and a gorgeous clubhouse. It starts with the nice right dogleg par-4 1st hole, with a downhill tee shot and a slightly-uphill green, and is followed by two left doglegs, downhill all the way to the green on the 2nd, and with an uphill tee shot and a downhill slope to the green, with the ocean beyond on the latter. After the right dogleg par-4 4th hole, downhill all the way to the green, and the par-3 5th, with a round green and a nice panoramic view as your reach it, you will head for the right dogleg par-5 6th hole, with a wide open undulating fairway and a pond on the right in front of the sloped green Then, after the par-3 7th hole, with a downhill green, surrounded by a couple of bunkers and with a little slope, you will reach the nice left dogleg par-4 8th, with a little creek midway crossing the fairway diagonally to the right and ending on the right of the green, with nice villas around (but with one strangely “standing” in the middle of the path and another one in the middle of the road ) ! It is a “shame” because the left dogleg par-5 9th hole is simply gorgeous, with a blind uphill tee shot, big bunkers on both sides in the corner, and a beautiful old mansion (as a clubhouse) behind the green, guarded by a few bunkers in front, with the coastline on the right and the mountains and a cascade, on the left... The back 9 starts with the right dogleg par-4 10th (with a hole sign on the right side of the tee box – and the only one !), downhill to the green, and continues with another right dogleg, the par-4 11th, similar to the 10th but with a slightly-uphill green (and another house standing in the middle of the path midway !). The left dogleg par-4 12th hole is nice, with a blind and steeply-downhill tee shot and an uphill shot to the elevated green... until you notice another house on the left in the middle of the road (!) and the ocean in front, looking more like a wall. Fortunately, the last few holes are nicer, starting with the right dogleg par-4 15th hole, with an uphill tee shot, an undulated fairway and an elongated lake on the right midway, and a slightly-uphill green. After the par-3 16th hole, downhill to a sloped green, the right dogleg par-4 17th, with its blind and uphill tee shot landing steeply down onto the fairway, and its steeply-elevated green needing another blind shot to reach it (with the clubhouse on the left) is quite nice, just like the right dogleg par-5 18th, with a blind and downhill tee shot and another blind (and long) second shot downward to reach the green, with a few elongated bunkers in front and the nice clubhouse and panoramic view of the mountains and the coastline behind (just like on the 9th hole) ! But, despite a beautiful panorama, some nice elevation changes, and a couple of gorgeous holes, Bush Country Club does not get my vote, as there are too many "strange" bugs that need to be updated...
