A very pleasant course with fairways and greens looking lighter than usual (but nice), plenty of doglegs with water hazards, but with quite a few similar-looking holes... This par 71 starts with the tough right dogleg par-4 1st hole, with a big lake on the right and an elongated big bunker on the edge in the corner (and a smaller one on the other side), and a small pond on the left of the green, and is followed by the straight par-4 2nd, with an elongated lake on the left (and a little bit across halfway below the tiered fairway), ending near the green. The par-3 3rd hole is pretty, with a peninsula green looking more like an island green, whereas the right dogleg par-4 4th will remind you of the 1st hole, even if it does not bend as sharply to the right. The next two holes are doglegs : the par-4 5th turns to the right, with an elongated bunker on the right ending not far from the green, and a narrow fairway with an elongated lake on the left, and the par-4 6th hole has an elongated bunker hugging the wide lake on the left, and a smaller one in the right corner. Then, after the right dogleg par-5 7th hole, again similar to the 1st and 4th holes, you will reach the very short (a little more than 100 yards) par-3 8th, with its peninsula green, looking a little bit like the 3rd hole ! As for the right dogleg par-4 9th hole, it has an elongated lake on the left ending midway, trees on both sides in the corner, partially hiding the narrow fairway, and a small lake further to the right and behind the green. The back 9 starts with the sharp left dogleg par-4 10th hole, with the fairway hugging an elongated lake on the left, and is followed by the pretty right dogleg par-5 11th, with a tee shot over a winding lake going all the way to the right of the green and across. I also like the par-3 13th hole with its elevated green, the par-4 17th, with a big lake on the left ending midway, with a small one further to the right near the green, and the short (about 485 yards) left dogleg par-5 18th hole, with a big lake on the left and where you will have one last eagle opportunity. East River GCC 2010 is a remake of the 2008 version, also released by skydoral which, apparently, corrects the little bugs mentioned by a few players at that time. However, despite its challenging layout, nice trees ans isolated houses (with slanted roofs), it lacks a little bit of variety to rank it as a top course, but it is still an enjoyable one where you will have to concentrate on your tee shots to avoid getting wet !
