If you are tired of playing fantasy courses, take a look at this one before changing your mind : well-designed, this par 72 is pleasant to watch and play, even though it is not too difficult. With nice small mountains as a panorama, plenty of tree-lined wide fairways (and some quite narrow), and a few big lakes, you will enjoy a stress-free round of golf on this course, located in South Africa and looking quite realistic. With beautiful plantings (even without flowers) and nice paths, my favorite holes on the front 9 are the pretty left dogleg par-5 1st, with plenty of trees on the left and a downhill tee shot over a half-moon-shaped big lake (ending next to the right of the green), the dogleg par-4 2nd hole, with a wide fairway until you reach the corner, where trees on both sides make it quite narrow, and the scenic par-3 3rd, with a tee shot across a lake with nice bushes around it on the other bank and small mountains behind. After a couple of dogleg holes, with water to deal with, I also like the long (almost 680 yards) par-5 8th, with a wide fairway twisting to the right with a few trees surrounded by sand a little bit further (in the middle), then bending to the left with a big bunker to the right of the green. The back 9 is relatively easy but has a few nice holes, such as the par-4 10th where you will need to hit your tee shot over a big u-shaped bunker before aiming for the green, slightly to the left, or the two right doglegs, the par-4 13th hole, slightly uphill all the way with a couple of small rocks past the corner on the right, and the par-4 14th, this time slightly downhill all the way to the green, with a small pond on the left side to watch for. The finishing holes are worth mentioning too : the par-3 15th is pretty, with a tee shot over a small lake and an elevated green, with a few big bushes below, the par-5 16th hole is quite long (about 685 yards), with a wide fairway bending to the right along the lake, and the par-3 18th, with a blind tee shot to the green, hidden by big trees on the right and with a small pond on the left, is a nice way to finish your round. Overall, despite few challenging holes, Zambesi Lodge & Country Club is a nice (fantasy) course to keep, thanks to NJJ062 !

I enjoyed my round, played very smoothly. Just one small point, as this was a fantasy course I would have liked to have seen more complex bunker work. Please take this as a constructive comment and keep up the good work. Many thanks for sharing this course. PhilT is right about the number of viewings compared to downloads but that seems to happen on most courses and is not applicable just to this course.

Very nice layout, good job on the plantings and nice water and path work. I did find the fairways a little flat and the greens too. I also noticed several bunkers that seemed to not be dropped or were flat, but maybe that was what you wanted. Some more smoothing around a few greens and you got to watch out for those ridges between textures and creases, I noticed on a few greens.. All in all a very nice job and accept for a little lag on some holes the course played nicely.. Fine job NJJ. And I hope you take this as constructive and it was not meant to put down your course at all. As I said I liked it and it was a real good job.. I recommend it.. Thanks for your hard work. Axe

Thank you for the gr8 comments. If wizzard is out there I would like to hear from you as well. I regard you as one of the best designers and your comments will mean a lot. Other designers out there I challenge you please download this course - play a round and please comment. I want to see how many downloads and comments I can get before 25th Dec 2009, please help!! I have a bet on with a friend that not one of my courses will get a hundred ratings and be in the top downloads, help me to proof him wrong, regards from South - Africa. (Do anyone out there have any info about Tiger Woods 2010 for PC - johanvni@telkomsa.net)

Its a real shame that the system here cannot acknowledge good from bad! I enjoyed playing here very much!I did hack my way round as usual but it was a pleasure to play and obvious the course creaters put a great deal of time into the design and layout. I thank you kindly and I would say you are among the best of the best designers here regardless of dubious ratings! PC; Well you know what I mean! C:
