Interesting course, with textures used for the fairways and greens looking more like those used in previous years and water, not as nice as usual with TW08 (and up) courses (especially the stream). But this par 72 has quite a few nice holes, starting with the opening par-4 with trees in the middle, making the downhill fairway quite narrow, and a tricky second shot over those trees, the left dogleg par-4 2nd, with its tree-lined fairway hugging a big lake, midway on the left and its green, close to the lake behind, and the slightly-down par-3 3rd hole, with two small elongated bunkers on both sides of the green, with the lake on the left. Then, after the left dogleg par-4 4th hole, along the lake on the left and its elevated green, you will move on to the long par-5 5th, again with the lake, a little bit further to the left, where you need to hit your tee shot to the right side of the fairway if you want to have a clear view of the small green and its big bunker on the right. The par-3 6th hole, on another hand, is very short (less than 100 yards) with the green set on a plateau, with a steep slope, unlike the par-5 7th, with its slanted fairway, along the lake on the left, and its long and blind second shot over a small stream on the left crossing the fairway diagonally in front, and ending to the right of the green. On the right dogleg par-4 8th hole, after a blind and slightly-uphill tee shot landing near a big elongated bunker on the right, halfway (with patches of grass in it), you will need to hit another blind shot downward to the green, before finishing with the slightly-uphill par-4 9th, with another elongated bunker on the right of the wide green, halfway, and a small lake of the left, not far from the green. Coming back, the par-4 10th hole has an undulating fairway and needs a blind approach to the downhill green, hidden by a big mound In front, and is followed by the very long (around 630 yards) and nice par-5 11th, slightly-downhill all the way, with deep rough splitting the fairway across twice and a green, with a nice panoramic view of the lake behind. After the par-4 12th hole, with a big bunker, halfway on the right, and a steeply-elevated green, you will face the pretty par-3 13th, with a green set on a plateau with a big elongated pond below on the left, before heading for the slightly-uphill par-4 14th hole, with trees in the middle making the fairway very narrow. Two slightly-uphill par-4 holes follow, with the 16th being prettier, along the big lake on the right and with a big bunker on the left, halfway, before moving on to my favorite hole, the beautiful par-3 17th, with a tee shot over the water landing onto a peninsula green, high above the lake, with three deep bunkers around ! You will finish your round with the slightly-uphill par-5 18th hole, with a small elongated lake on the left of the green, before realizing that this course is a misnomer : at best, it should be called “Eagle”, but you are more likely to call it “Birdie”, as it is tougher than it looks with its challenging approaches to the (often) small greens !
