Among the hundreds of TW08 courses released over the years, here is another beautiful links course from a designer I did not know : Craig Johnson ! This par 71, set along the Australian coastline, looks very nice with plenty of sand and high rough all around the undulated fairways, quite a few elevation changes, nice (pot) bunkers and a few tricky greens. On the front 9, I like the par-4 2nd hole where you can reach the green from the tee box and the nice panoramic view of the high grass all round the green on the par-3 3rd. But my favorite holes are the par-5 4th, with its fairway in a half-moon shape to the left next to the coastline, and the gorgeous par-3 5th hole, very scenic with its green on the other side of the cliffs. Other noticeable holes are the par-5 8th, with sand and high grass in the middle of the fairway, not once, but twice, and the par-4 9th hole, with the green next to the clubhouse and the parking lot with cars on the right side. The back 9 is more inland, starting with the par-4 10th hole and its nice small stone wall near the green and next to the road. It continues with the very scenic par-3 11th hole, with a hollow quarry between the tee box and the elevated green and the par-4 12th, where you will see an old farm windmill on the right side. On the next two holes, a few ponds are visible but, unless you hit terrible shots, you won't be in trouble: on the par-3 13th hole, the pond is behind the green and on the nice par-5 14th, with its green near the ocean, it is on the left side of the fairway. As you stand on the tee box of the par-4 15th hole, I suggest that you take a look around to admire the view : not only it is nice, but the approach shot to the green is quite scenic too with that little pond on the left side and the stream across the fairway. Finally the par-4 18th hole, slightly to the right, is quite nice with, once again, the clubhouse and the parking lot on the left side. Overall, this course is a delightful surprise and, even though I did not like too much the color of the ocean (too dark), I really enjoyed my round, thanks to Craig Johnson, a designer who ought to be recognized for his great work !

Finally played this course last night, and I'm going to try my hardest to do something I've been missing. Discovering courses is so fun & exciting to me, and something I have to make time for from now on. I enjoy playing aorund in CA just as much as playing this great game, but I have to find balance between both in the future, so I can have the best of both worlds I love..... :)
You did a good job making a links, and to me, a links course seems like it would be the hardest course to pull off. This course brings a stiff challenge too, and you must stay out of the dp rough to have any chance at Birdie or PAR scores on Her. Plus, stay out of them hardcore pot bunkers my fellow TW players, they can be nasty if up close to wall( One time I had to take medicine, and go backwards to make sure I got out). The greens play fair on Very dry, and had some great break lines. I only came across one pin on the 1st PAR 3 that was on a serious steep hillside(Made it tough to lag my putt), but I didn't come across nothing that made my round bad. I surely didn't want to leave myself in bad position or I'd be 3 putting real quick like, and I love it when a course slaps me on the wrist for my bad play. The elevation work is awesome on this course, and you did a great job capturing the links vibe I love. Reminding me of one of my favorite Links courses(Turnberry) with the way it played. The undulations on fairways & around greens made for great bounces you find on any cool Links. The 15th hole tee box was cool with way it stuck out on the coast line, and you had other holes with neat touches like this hole had too. The 18th hole with the view of club house, cool road leading to it, and the parking lot with cars added a sweet vibe to my rd too. You did a sweet job adding those cool touches that link course needs to make it a Links course. Not easy to make a Links, and one day I like to attempt to make one myself. Very brave elevation work for a up-incoming designer too, and it played very smooth at the same time, not a easy to do. Your bunker work was very clean, and your designing future looks very bright my friend. Hopefully TW survives customs so we can watch each other grow with each design..... :) I recommend this course to all...........
Good job buddy, and I will check out you other course for sure without question when I find time too...... :) Oh yeah, I loved the walls you used around club house, and other spots too(Like that one tee box had), and will see if they're listed in TW Caddie if the is even named rock walls. I like to use them one day on a future course, they're cool looking block walls. I've probaly forgotten some of the other things I wanted to say, but I'm not to awake yet, so these comments might be all confusing when read.......... I NEED COFFEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.......... :P
Thanks for your time & hard work while making this course Squirrely

Enjoyable course to play, played smoothly. Narrow fairways, lots of rough so I need to improve my drives. I liked the feel of this course.
