What a nice course ! Even though it is not too difficult with its wide fairways and greens, this par 72 is delightful to watch and play because of its lush vegetation, marshlands, ponds and small lakes and... its dead trees in a lot of them ! Even though this course is in south central Louisiana, you don’t have to be born in the bayou (as Creedence Clearwater Revival used to sing !) to enjoy this Atchafalya Golf Club and admire, at the same time, the nice townhouses seen on quite a few holes. It starts with the left dogleg par-4 1st hole, with a tee shot over a small marshy pond and is slightly uphill all the way to the green, and is followed by the par-5 2nd, slightly to the left with an elongated lake parallel to the fairway on the right... and a dead tree at the end. After three “pretty straight” holes, you will see more dead trees in the lake on the right on the scenic dogleg par-5 6th hole, just like on the par-3 7th, not overly difficult but with a tee shot over a small and deep lake. The par-4 8th hole, with its slightly-uphill tee shot and a small lake on the right of the green, and the dogleg par-4 9th, with 4 small bunkers across the fairway midway through (and next to the lake on the right), are quite nice too. Coming back, I like the dogleg par-4 10th hole, with a slightly-uphill tee shot, a big lake on the left side, with a few houses around the green (and a nice gazebo to the left) and another lake behind, the right dogleg par-4 11th, with another very nice townhouse on the left side midway through and a green, surrounded halfway by a lake (with a nice little bridge on the left side), and the right dogleg par-5 13th hole, with a big lake on the right near the tee and a smaller one to the left of the green. Then, after the straight par-3 14th hole, with water surrounding the green halfway behind and three small houses on the other bank, you will face the very short (about 315 yards) par-4 16th, slightly-uphill and with a couple of small bunkers in front of the green, on the left side, making it tough to reach it from the tee. Finally, after the par-4 17th hole, with its fairway bending to the right, following the lake, you will hit a tee shot over a small lake to reach the peninsula green on the pretty par-3 18th hole. With its beautiful design, Eaglphan really captured the Louisiana atmosphere, even though I did not see any Spanish moss around, nor did I encounter that scary crocodile, seen on the scorecard with a golf ball in its mouth !

Another great design; I especially enjoyed the greens. A smooth, challenging but very fair course on all levels of dryness. Once again, when I see a new Eaglphan course, I download it!!

An enjoyable course that maintained my eager antipication all the way round. Nice soft grass textures and texture joins..,was not too keen on the corrugated rough texture as it looked a bit dodgy and did not appear to join up nicely with the other grass textures. The par three 18th was a very nice hole. Another steady course from Joe which I rated as four stars.

Outstanding design Joe. Your courses keep getting better with each release. Excellent attention to detail here. I like the plantings along the water edges, so did my ball, it visited a lot of them. Runs smooth, I recommend it.

I liked your layout and the dead tree's in the water. You put some good bunkers in there that I found. (LOL) Over all good job and I had no problems running the course.

Ok thanks it crashed on hole 2 and after my game refused to restart, even when I uninstalled the course, I have to restart the computer to get everything back to normal. I will have a look at this later today, reload it.
