Love this course and this is an excellent rendition - enjoyed it all the way. A vintage, traditional layout with great variety throughout - I played every type of shot with almost all the clubs used. I especially like the greens here, often small and usually raised, they're great targets and lots of fun. (Side note, I too noticed the reversing of the 9's - wasn't aware this was to mirror a real tournament, so that's good to know. Didn't impact my enjoyment in any way). I rate this an awesome design - it captures all the little details and 'feels' that make this a truly classic course. Cheers!

Nice work with beautiful trees and use of the terrain (even though, according to those who know the course, it is not steep enough on some holes sometimes). Hitting tee shots is not much of a problem despite the bunkers: it is more about making your putts with all these slopes, especially on the back 9. I like a few holes: the dogleg par-5 2nd hole and the following par-5 hole along the lake. The two par-3 4th and 12th will make you sweat on your tee shot as water is right behind the short green leaving you no margin for errors in your club selection. Overall, a nice course to keep, thanks tay1062 !

Thank you for the commetns ghcowan and duke6, I have not been back to review comments for a long while, but if they create a course architect for TWO I am going to recreate some of my real courses and will take into mind your comments. I spent a lot of time at the course taking photos, walking the course to create my version. The CA program is very difficult to make perfect and has many limitation. The folks at EA Sports are planning on a future new Course Architect program and i will look forward to using it then.

I was a little confused on the first tee until I realized you reversed the nines as they did for the Solheim Cup and Women's Open. I worked on the grounds crew at Interlachen from 1990-92. Having that intimate knowledge of the course I have to say that there was a lot of attention to detail in this course. The bridge over the road between #1 and #2, the maintenance road that runs alongside #3 next to Mirror Lake, the concession stand next to #4 tee, the fencing on the back of #5 tee box, you obviously did some research on what's on the grounds other than tees, fairways, greens and bunkers. Very nice work.
That said, I do have to say that I didn't think the elevation changes were steep enough on a few holes. If there is anywhere that you can find detailed topo info for the area I think you could make good use of it. With more accurate elevation changes this would be a spot on re-creation.
Some things that come to mind: #1 - It's a much more elevated tee shot, there's a steep drop from the tee box down to the fairway. Green is more elevated as well. #9 - This is actually a blind tee shot, you can't see the landing area from the tee box. More elevation to the green on this one, too. #11 - More uphill and fairway slopes severely to the left. #13 - Fairway is more uphill on the tee shot, then it drops down I'm guessing about 150 out from the green and the green is elevated. This hole is a lot harder to get home in two because it's not flat.
One other thing, very nice work on the signature hole (#18).
Thanks for making this course, it was a nice trip down memory lane for me. It will get a lot of play on my pc.

Lived by this course for a few years and always just wanted to blow past the guard and drive up to the beautiful clubhouse! I suppose seeing it going and coming from work, then on evening walks doesn't help much either. :)
I did get a chance to tour the could during the Solheim Cup and I feel that the designer has done a wonderful job at bringing out the country club feel while implanted in the heard of the richest of the rich in Edina, MN. Number 16 was almost identical to the real hold along with 9 and 18. I'm very proud to place this in my personal library collection.
Well done, and looking more for what you can create up North here, doncha know dare!

Rlslay your course are an insipratino to me, you seem to produce so many great ones yourself, so its a complement to get your input. Rick as always thank you for the support and comments maybe I will look at a new SD design soon? Terry

Well Terry another job well done! The course is open and smooth I played it with very dry greens, and Diff pins. It was fair in the ball would stay where I hit it on the green. Drivable par 4's and 5 par 5's give you A chance to get A good score. I just wish I had watched the LPGA play it now to look at them side by side. Keep them coming as much as work will let you. LOL ,Rick

There was a town near the town I grew up in named Interlachen, so I had to try this course when I seen it's name. Glad I did, and every time I played a course here I realize there are a lot of good designers on this site that I have yet to discover. I played many good courses the last few eeks, and your course is good too............
Wide open fairways where I could grip it & rip it........... :) Birdies are there to reward good shots on this course, but there are hazard( Darn bunkers)to punish the bad ones too. I played so good just now(-5), I'm thinking I better go play the CDT tour right now while hitting good like I am today, and I did the best on the par 5 on this course, but not so great on the other holes. Got a rare eagle on the 18th hole after a great second shot after a sweet drive. Love the club house view coming up the 18th, and all the plantings you did with the cool looking block walls around them too. Good bunker work where the bunker lip is not flat like, and just good clean work you did on this course. Plus I like the tee box work with the wood around it next to the river. I'm think I'm getting better at seeing things since I took up designing here lately, but I don't consider myself experienced enough to give great advise yet with constructive criticism. Leave that to the more experienced here, but from what I played. You got it going on just like all the other designers I played the last few weeks. Each course brings different things, and I try not to compare works to much because there are so many things that can effect outcome of courses. How much time one has, experience, KIDS(LOL), real gold experience, and I think you understand what I'm trying to say with this. Keep up the good work, and I appreciate all the cool designs you designers bring to us players. I do prefer real like course like this, but I'm going to try out some wild fantasy courses more so I can see all the course eventually.
Thanks for your time making this course Squirrely
