Another nice course from Chimaera Design, with a castle visible on some holes, a beautiful mountain panorama, small elevation changes, a few water hazards and some sloped greens, not too easy but still playable (even without the grid, the option that I am using all the time to add more pressure on my putting !). Speaking of pressure, you can’t beat the one that you will face on the straight par-4 opening hole with... canons pointed in your direction (from the right) as you get ready to tee off, with a tee shot over a wide lake, or on the very short (106 yards) par-3 2nd, with a tee shot over a creek, winding its way across the fairway and in front of the green. The dogleg left par-4 3rd hole is very pretty, with its narrow fairway, set between a few tall trees (on the left) and a meandering cart path (on the right), and its tricky approach toward the (almost) island green, set in the middle of a lake, just like the dogleg par-4 4th, bending sharply to the left around a lake, with a fairway, narrow in the middle (with a wide elongated bunker on both sides) and a blind second shot downward to the green. Water comes into play again on the par-4 5th hole, with a tee shot over a lake and an approach over a winding creek to reach the green (sightly to the right), on the scenic par-4 6th, with a tee shot over the serpentine creek and another shot over it again to reach the elevated green, and on the straight par-5 7th, back the other way, with a tee shot flying over the creek twice (as it forms a loop) and a long second shot toward the green (with a big castle, two-thirds of the way, on the far right). Then, after the par-4 8th, with a blind and downhill tee shot and an uphill approach to the green, you will finish the front 9, with a scenic par-3 hole, facing the mountains, with a downhill tee shot across a wide lake and three little bunkers in front of the green. The back 9 starts with the par-4 10th hole, with a blind and downhill tee shot landing near a wide lake and a long second shot over it to get to the green, and is followed by the par-4 11th, with a tee shot over a lake and an uphill approach to the elevated green. After two relatively easy par-4 holes (12th and 13th), and the straight par-3 14th, with a blind and downhill tee shot, three dogleg holes await you, with the par-5 15th, bending to the right, being the most noteworthy, with trees near the tee box (on the right) “forcing” you to hit your tee shot more to the left, and with an big elongated bunker, midway on the left, and another big one, ending to the right of the green, before completing your round with the short par-4 18th, with trees in the middle and an elevated green (with a nice little house to admire, further behind). Pretty to look at and quite challenging, at times, Chimaera Design came up with another imaginative par 72 course, with a few of his trademarks (medieval castle, for example) that you should enjoy...
