Wizards, I am now part of your fan club again... thanks to TW08 ! This time, I really enjoyed this par 72, not overly difficult as long as you are patient with your shots to avoid water hazards, strategically-placed trees (and bunkers), and a few narrow fairways, mostly on the back 9. After four relatively easy holes to start with, my favorites on the front 9 are the right dogleg par-5 5th, with an uphill tee shot between the tree-lined fairway (with gorgeous red brick townhouses, partially hidden behind), and a very long and slightly-downhill approach to the green (with a big pond on the left and in front), the par-4 6th hole, with a tee shot over a tiny stream (with a pond on the left) and an approach to the green (with a pond on the right), and the very scenic par-3 9th, with three big ponds between the tee box and the green, with the first two (with fountains) on the left and the other one, a little bit behind the green. The back 9 starts with some narrow fairways to deal with on the straight par-4 10th hole and the par-3 11th, and continues with the nice right dogleg par-5 12th hole, slightly-uphill all the way, with tall trees all along the fairway on the left and big mansions on the right (with a small lake in front and to the right, not far from the tee box). Then, after the sharp dogleg to the left par-4 13th hole, with two shots over trees to reach the green, and the par-5 14th, with a long approach toward the green, with a small pond in front, you will reach the gorgeous par-3 15th hole, with a tee shot over a wide lake landing onto the green, with another wide lake right behind ! The right dogleg par-4 16th hole is very scenic too, with a tee shot over the lake (mostly on the right) landing near tall trees on the left of the fairway, and a second shot over a tiny stream to reach the green. Finally, after the right dogleg par-4 17th hole, with a slightly-downhill tee shot over a small stream, and an uphill second shot to the green, you will enjoy the par-4 18th with a nice uphill approach to the green, with the name of the course written on a small slope behind, just in front of the nice clubhouse... and the tennis courts on the right... Beautifully-designed, very enjoyable and with some very scenic holes (and those gorgeous mansions...), this Mt Edgecombe Country Club is definitely one of Wizards' best courses and I can hardly wait to (re)discover his Sherwood Country Club version before comparing it with the latest CGX ones, just released last week...

Sorry Wizards, I would have loved to join the fan club because, from what I saw, this course is a beauty. Unfortunately for me, my graphic card did not seem to agree as water appeared extremely grainy, no matter what hole I played... but the fountain worked wonders (go figure it out !). I read your instructions and tried to lower the water details, without success. It is strange because I did not have any problems with your other gorgeous courses. Maybe this course is not made to be played with TW07...

If I had to sum this course up in one word, it would be "idyllic". Fave eye candy holes are 9, 10, 15 & 16, with a special mention for the nice touch of the course name & planting near the 18th green. I'll have to have a refresher on Sherwood, another Wizards masterpiece, to see how this one measures up - either way, they're both 5* efforts...

A great course, surrounded by houses (castles is a better word) where 98% of the people of South Africa could only dream of.... Seems to me a resort for the very rich only.... (maybe this something has to do with golf, which is not a sport for the poor) But as I said before: this course is a wonderful design (4 stars).

The course would be playable in TW07 but you would have to install the TW08 stock libraries that this course uses into the TW07 game, unfortunately the 08 libraries have not been approved for for download yet by EA.

Very beautiful course to play, really like par3 9th and the water near the end of the course. I dont understand what people are looking for in a courses as i see this as a masterpiece, along with a couple of other courses of yours i keep on my hardrive. I seen no drop off around the edges of the course, and all views looking backwards to tee after finishing the hole were filled and look real. A well groom course with very good planting, and the brown dirt textures right on....I am rating this course as a 5.. Well Done!

The course is the bees knees Rowan. She who must be obeyed thought that the fountain was good and it was working perfectly. Five stars for me even after deducting one star for the fact that you are a wizard and therefore may have some advantage.
