With that scenic Cypress Point Pano to gaze at, plenty of tree-lined dogleg holes (especially on the back 9), some water hazards, and a few slightly-elevated greens with wide bunkers to watch for, this par 72 is one of ron717’s best courses. You will have your eyes full starting with the par-4 1st, with its fairway, hugging a serpentine river on the left and over which you will have to hit your approach to reach the green (with the ocean further behind), and the gorgeous postcard-like par-3 2nd, with a small lighthouse on the left and a nice panoramic view of the bay, way beyond the green. Then, after the straight par-5 3rd hole, with a narrow tree-lined fairway next to the small river on the right (ending two-thirds of the way), and the right dogleg par-4 4th, with trees lined up on both sides of the narrow fairway in the corner and a small lake to the right of the green, three more holes are worth mentioning : the par-5 6th is a nice left dogleg, along a small river on the left, with a long second shot toward the green, guarded by a small lake on the right, the par-4 7th is a right dogleg, along water on the left and with a slightly-elevated green, and the par-3 8th is quite scenic (along the water on the right), with a tough shot landing onto a small green (and a nice townhouse on the far right). After two holes with narrow fairways (straight par-4 9th and left dogleg par-4 10th), you will face plenty of dogleg holes as you head back home, with the par-5 11th, bending to the right, with a tree-lined fairway, midway, and a small green, surrounded by a horseshoe-shaped small pond and a small elongated bunker on the left, and the right dogleg par-4 12th and left dogleg par-4 13th. You will then reach one of my favorite holes, the beautiful par-3 14th, with a big island (and sloped) green and two nice small wooden bridges and four more small bunkers in front, before moving on to the right dogleg par-4 15th, with a tee shot over deep rough and a green, surrouned halfway by water. Finally, after the left dogleg par-4 16th and the par-3 17th, you might hit the jackpot on the short and gorgeous dogleg par-5 18th hole, bending sharply to the left with a big elongated bunker and a lake in the left corner (over which you can hit your tee shot) and a second shot over that same lake toward the green : on that hole, PhilT scored an eagle (see his comments below) and I finished with a very rare albatross !

Yes good course Ron hole 12 tee shot is a bit tricky! got an eagle on 18 which was nice I did not hit the water once!...which bucked the trend!
something different from you this time, I loike the pano gives a sense of really being there, I did find the birds overpowering myself, next round I will take a shotgun.

I just completed my first round on this course. It is a great course with well thought out holes, and undulating fairways and greens. The animal sounds are appropriate for the area and are not overbearing. I enjoyed playing each hole, and the views of the ocean and land side are all well done. I would not hesitate to recommend this to all. Congrats on a great course ron.
