Here is another nice (and overlooked) course by Chimaera Design, not too difficult but with beautiful stone paths, bridges, and some unusual sights, such as a Roman circus, a medieval tower, not to mention those cute (and tiny) old planes as tee markers !
You will see that medieval tower, way on the left (and surrounded by water), as you get ready to hit a slightly-uphill tee shot over a serpentine river on the left dogleg par-4 1st hole, before aiming for the elevated green.
Then, after the slightly-uphill dogleg par-5 3rd hole, with a long approach shot to the elevated green (with a nice serpentine cart path on the right), the next three holes are quite challenging : the par-4 4th is long (about 560 yards), with a big lake on the right side of the green, partially hidden by a big tree in front (on the left) and a big bunker (slightly to the right), whereas the right dogleg par-4 5th hole is pretty with bunkers on both sides of the fairway (in the corner) and two wide lakes on the right.
The right dogleg par-4 6th hole is even more beautiful, with a great panoramic view of the lakes, left and right, and two shots over them to reach the green...
Upon reaching the dogleg par-5 8th hole, you will finally see that Roman circus (looks like the mini-Colosseum) on a hilltop, above a small lake with big rocks on the edge (on the left side of the fairway), before hitting a blind uphill approach shot to the green, with plenty of stone paths behind.
And you will see the pretty clubhouse (with plenty of national flags in front), surrounded by water, on the left dogleg par-4 9th hole, after hitting your approach shot over the small river.
The back 9 starts with a slightly-uphill blind tee shot, with the medieval tower on the right, and an approach shot over the river (again on the right), and is followed by the right dogleg par-4 13th hole where, after hitting your tee shot over a small pond, you will see a small private... airstrip, parallel to the fairway on the left, with a lone old plane (waiting for you ?) as you hit your blind uphill approach shot !
The last three holes are pretty too : the par-5 16th is quite short (about 490 yards) with a nice downhill panoramic view, with the river crossing the fairway halfway through and an uphill shot to the green, and is followed by the signature hole, my favorite, the par-3 17th, very scenic with its small island green, with three trees and a few rocks around.
And you will finish with the par-4 18th hole, with a tee shot over part of a lake and a blind approach shot over the river to reach the green and the clubhouse behind.
As usual with Chimaera Design, his courses are often filled with little "bonuses", and this one is no exception. So, if you want to enjoy a nice round of golf, check out The Lying Aces and, who knows, you might end up with one !

Played it, loved it, but just an observation on the fun side: earlier comments re lack of pano are true - it doesn't make much difference, but hit a high shot from the 11th tee & watch the background. Makes you feel like you're seeing the edge of the world!

At the foot of a mini Colosseum I played this rich textured course.
Looking out for Manfred von Richthofen, better known as The Bloody Red Baron of Germany, one of the Flying Aces, who shot down 80 enemy aeroplanes in WO 1.
I produced only one ace myself at the beautiful course.
Thanks to Martijn, Jimi, Chimaera Hover.

Nice course. It reminds me of a course outside of Kansas City, Mo. that I used to play many moons ago. You didn't have to hit a shot across the end of the runway like on Hole 14 here. However, between the green on #10 and the tee of 11, you had to walk across one. There was a sign that I got a kick out of.... "Watch out for low flying aircraft." Love this course BTW.

I figure the world is 75% water for a reason. That is why I sail.

Thanks for the compliments, guys.
There is indeed no pano. It started acting weirdly after I put in the tee markers, so I removed it. Some of these structures have pretty high point counts, which can cause problems. I don't think the lack of a pano makes much difference in this case.

A very nice layout, well sculpted with smooth elevations and challenging but playable greens. As usual, very well suited structures for the theme of this fantasy. Don't recall much of seeing a pano though? I noticed the library used for the pano, but did you select it in the CA? rated=5

Ever since I played your Helms Deep course the other day or so. I want to play all the courses you have made eventually, and when I saw this one come up when checking in today. Went ahead & tried it out just now before eating dinner. Glad I did, and this course is a work of art with all kinds of cool eye candy to look at. Loved the cool buildings, plantings, rocks, and the holes a very nice looking the way you did them. When I'm taking screenshot with fraps at every turn on a course for cool golf pictures for my desktop, It's all good...............

The greens are slick willy, and you better have a nice touch if ya do very dry greens.
The course plays real well, and I had to make sure not to get in trouble to much or I had to pay the toll.........

Squirrely

Oh yeah,
Loved the plane tee markers too, and it's your attention to those kind of details that make your courses nice to play. Got so many courses to still try out, but that's a good thing...........:P
