Thanks GG, Green River was (I think) my 2nd or 3rd course. Hard to remember, maybe Pat would be able to tell me. As Holeinone points out it was named after the song.

Really enjoyed my round here, a bit of a mountain course with a river running through it, couldn't tell if it was real or not - which is a plus! I have to say, as much as I dislike saying it, that it's a crying shame that a course a fine as this one is - or any of the courses that our designers work on - that has almost 1500 downloads has 3 comments - an embarrassment. Thanks, Neil, you're great, your work is great. We appreciate it every day when we play your courses.

Nice course with plenty of holes next to the river which, at times, make you think twice about club selection. This par 72 is well designed, as usual by Neil Munro, and is quite scenic, especially on the front 9. Trees have nice colors, the clubhouse is simply gorgeous and fairways are, most of the times, wide and smooth. The front 9 has quite a few standout holes : after a nice par-4 1st, along the river on the left side, I like the par-3 2nd, with the green on the other bank of the river (just like the par-3 11th) and the left dogleg par-5 3rd, over the water wth an elevated green. The par-4 4th hole, where the green is on Fogertys island, is gorgeous, whereas the sharp left dogleg par-5 5th, over the river, is quite tough. Two nice inland holes follow with the "cute" par-3 6th, where the green, partially hidden by trees, is at the foot of a steep hill, just like the green of the right dogleg par-4 7th hole. As for the par-4 9th, you will have a choice of fairways, as trees are in the middle, but, whether you tee off to the left or to the right, you should have a clear view of the slightly uphill green. The back 9 is not as scenic but has two of the best and toughest holes on this course : the par-4 12th is quite short (about 325 yards) but you can't reach the green because there is a big swamp, right below it (on the right side), forcing you to hit a much safer tee shot. As for the par-5 18th hole, right after the other long inland par-5 17th, it is beautiful with a tee shot near the river on the left side and a very tough and long approach shot over the river to reach the green and the clubhouse. Pleasant to look at, this fantasy course has a real look to it and you should enjoy it while remembering the good old days of Creedence Clearwater Revival...
