A very enjoyable tropical course, with a nice ocean to look at, sparsely-planted palm trees, beautiful villas, a few elevation changes and... Roger’s Peak (a big hill with trees halfway up and with a small war memorial at the top) as the main attraction. After the nice left dogleg par-4 1st hole, along the coastline, with a bunker in the middle around the corner, I like the beautiful and straight par-5 4th, with the ocean on the right and nice villas on the left with colorful flowers and bushes all along in front, and the par-4 5th hole, going the other way, with villas on the left and its slanted fairway. One of my favorite holes, however, is the short (about 360 yards) dogleg par-4 6th, turning sharply to the right around Roger’s Peak, where you will need to hit two blind shots over a slanted fairway to reach its green, before finishing with the par-4 9th, with its downhill tee shot and approach shot to a peninsula green, with a big hotel on the right. The first three holes on the back 9 are pretty too, starting with the straight par-4 10th, with its downhill tee shot, with the ocean on the left, and an uphill shot to the elevated green, followed by the par-3 11th hole, with an elevated green and a nice panoramic view of the ocean in the back (and a hotel on the right), and the par-4 12th, with nice villas on the left, an uphill and blind tee shot landing midway down a steep slope, and a green, slightly to the left. On the left dogleg par-4 14th hole, with Roger’s peak facing the tee box, you will need to hit a tee shot over a rollercoaster fairway, whereas on the straight par-5 15th, you will face a slightly-downhill fairway, quite narrow halfway with villas and trees on the left and a small beach on the right, and a long uphill approach shot to green, with two bunkers in front, on the left. The final 3-hole stretch is spectacular with two of my favorites holes being the beautiful and long (around 610 yards) left dogleg par-5 16th, with a slightly-uphill tee shot landing near the villas around the corner, a blind second shot close to the beach on the right, and an uphill approach to the elevated green, followed (after the left dogleg par-4 17th hole, with the ocean on the right, and grass mowed like... a palm-tree not far from the green), by the very scenic par-5 18th, with a tee shot over the ocean, and a long second shot to reach the elevated green with a beautiful villa on the left. With its pretty panoramic views, nice plantings and luxurious villas and hotels, not to mention Roger's Peak, this par 72 is a definite keeper (even with its few... "levitating" tee markers), thanks to Neil Munro's great design !

Looking at Neil's architect blurb, I'd say Roger really did hit his peak before passing at 33. Especially with those "9 holes" - lucky bastard! Great layout on this course, which is a bit of a hybrid - looking tropical near the coast & more forest-like at the island's centre. The narrow fairways & almost invasive cliffs are enough to keep everyone on their toes. Faves for me are 9, 15, 16 & 18 - bonnie as always, Neil...
