A delightful course, beautiful to gaze at with its pretty (often rustic) houses (with some set on small hilltops) and nice plantings, but not too difficult, despite some water hazards and well-placed bunkers, if you are patient enough before hitting your approaches toward the various-sized greens. The first two holes are left doglegs, with the par-4 1st, being quite scenic, with a small pond in front of a big house, further back (both on the left side, not far from the tee box), and the par-5 2nd, with a small pond, in front and to the left of the downhill green. Then, after the right dogleg par-5 3rd hole, with trees in the corner and a big bunker behind, and a long approach to the green, you will need, a little bit later, to hit a slightly-uphill tee shot, landing near some bunkers, on the right dogleg par-4 6th, before aiming your blind and downhill approach toward the green. The last two holes are nice too : the par-4 8th is downhill all the way, with a... windmill on a hilltop (to the right, near the green), and three cute little houses and nice plantings behind, and the right dogleg par-4 9th has a small elongated lake, over which you will hit your tee shot (while making sure to avoid two small bunkers, midway), before firing a blind approach to the elevated green. You will start the back 9 with the straight par-4 10th hole, pretty with its green, surrounded halfway by a small creek in a "question-mark" shape, before walking over to the downhill par-3 12th, requiring a blind tee shot to reach its wide green, surrounded by a few bunkers. On the par-5 15th hole, you will have to be careful to avoid landing into one of the two elongated light sand "bunkers" (midway, near a big elongated lake on the right), before firing a long second shot toward the slightly-downhill green. You will then face the very picturesque par-3 16th hole, with a blind tee shot downward to the green, and with a tiny pond (filled with reeds, on the left side), and a small house behind it, before finishing with two left dogleg holes, the par-4 17th, with more light sand, midway to the left (and a big bunker on the opposite side) and a slightly-downhill green, with three big thick-trunked trees (to the right), and the par-4 18th, with an elongated lake (on the left) not far from the tee box, and an elevated green. Well-designed, this SunRise Valley course is very enjoyable with its hilly countryside and, even though it is not the toughest one you will ever play, I am sure you will rise to the occasion before the sun goes... down !

Downloaded this last night as part of my first big downloading of courses and very much enjoyed this site. I kept playing the holes and thinking, that this is something you'd really see the PGA Tour play on. Great designed course where the holes feel as if they are part of the land surrounding it. Will be playing this a lot.

This course is so "romantic", that I kissed my TW golf mate (my wife) and fell in love again! All those pretty details: a pleasure to be there! A nice playablility too. So this must be a "5 stars course" All honour for the designer (thanks Mr.Eaglphan)

Really enjoying this course. Nice combination of textures that add a sense of individuality to the course. Nice "hometown" feel, also. Actually, the greens as well as the atmosphere remind me of a course not far from my home.
Thank you for a very well done piece of work.

What a great job you did designing this course. The attention to detail is fantastic and this probably is the "prettiest" course I've seen released for the '08 game. In addition to that, it is a great challenge too.
WELL DONE!

Thanks Roger ;-)
It has gone without saying long enough, but if not for your help, Steve ( Danut )Tru, Gun and many others, this site would not be nearly as enjoyable or successful.
Your efforts to help myself and the rest of the people that frequent this site are not recognized enough.

Fabulous job, Joe! It is great to see you progress so much as a designer. I really like the rolling hills and the elevation work throughout. The detail is excellent with the little villages, plantings and use of structures. Some nice imagination here. My only suggestion would be to add a medium rough around fairways before the deep rough. Excellent course overall. Keep it up.

Very nice opening shot, entire course played smooth and ex use of textures and planting, structures looked good and fitted in nicely with the surrounds, also very good use of elevations, with some good traps set to catch the bad shots.
Very well done, thankyou.

Enjoyable course which I rated a five. The elevation work was very good and the various buildings and their placement was excellent. Holes ten and eleven were a bit mediocre but the rest of the holes were very good. My only slight reservation was the very wide-trunked trees around the seventeenth green, I thought they looked odd from some angles. Anyway a certain download and thanks for all the hard work.

I agree with Phil, this is one of the best looking courses yet. But it's a challenging round of golf to be sure. Keep it straight or bring a weed wacker. Thanks Eaglphan, a true masterpiece.

This course had me torn. There were absolutely no flaws in the design and the course definitely had a nice feel. On the other hand, it felt like I was playing the same hole over and over at some points. I rated the course a 5 mainly because of the elevation work, which I thought was terrific. There were no flat spots on the entire course. Job well done.

What a superb course! 197 downloads and only 2 comments to date...shame on you people! This is a perfect course, I love that texture for the greens and the scenery is like a photograph at times! superb! Only one gripe, the house on the 18th should have shutters up for loose shots! lol. I take my hat off and say this has to be the course of the year...and its only January!
